What stays, Tambellini or Schaefer?

It seems to me it will be one or the other when Burrows draws in. Who would you prefer and why?

EDIT: Can't believe I put "what" instead of "who" in the title... can some kind mod fix it and help make me look less stupid.

Depends on the roles. Can Tambo play 4th line?

Schaefer is more effective on the 4th line than Tambellini but the 4th line is generally ineffective. As a player, I think Tambellini is ahead of Schaefer.

Well whatever happens; Schaefer stays, I think that's obvious.

I wouldnt say the 4th line is ineffective 10gms 50 hits 11blocked shots 2giveaways and 8 takeaways ......doing their thing with limited shifts

I really really want Tambo to do well. Hard not to root for the guy, but I'll give the edge to Schaefer slightly... Tambo is obviously the first call up if injury occurs.

I didn't look at those stats but it seems the play is often in their own end, they have no goals in 10 games and have been on for 2.

You could also go to behindthenet shots for and shots against (corsi report) to see how bad they've been - of course, I wouldn't quote it if it wasn't in favour of my argument.

I would prefer Tambo which means it will be Schaefer.

Both, send down Desbiens. I bet Schaefer goes down though.

Reliable defensive 3rd/4th liner, too useful on the PK. When Burrows comes back, he'll be in the top 6, most likely with Sedins. With Samuelsson also in the top 6, Tambellini doesn't have a spot. I don't see him playing 4th line instead of Desbiens.

based on ice-time tonight, i can see both being sent down in favour of a glass-rypien-desbiens 4th line when rypien eventually returns from suspension

tambellini is an adequate top-6 injury fill-in, just as schaefer is an adequate bottom-6 injury fill-in, but it's clear what style of play av wants out of his bottom 3 forwards and glass-rypien-desbiens fit that mold

it's about as popular on hf boards as kevin bieksa but i don't mind it as all as long as av shelters their minutes

Seconded. Desbiens brings the least between Tambo, Schaeffer. Desbiens SHOULD be the one that goes, but I think Schaeffer will be the one that goes, considering the remark he made about Schaeffer 'being in the right place at the right time' when he scored the only goal the fourth line has on the season.

So basically, Schaeffer will be sent down, , who was chosen over Morrison, who is leading the Flames in points, and we're left with Tambellini/Rypien as our fourth line center, while Bolduc is out for two to four more weeks? Crap.

Morrison started well in Washington last year too, and he is a bench warmer later in the season.

I am not worried about Morrison.

It'll be Tamby unfortunately. Get ready to see Desbiens as a permanent 4th line fixture.

Where is Oreskovich? Injured?

Schaefer did well in the face off circle tonight, and think he would help make a better rounded team, when PK and boards play is considered.

Tambellini down to the second line with Raymond-Kesler, Samuelsson down to the fourth line until he starts to play better, Desbiens to the Moose.

Something else to consider, at some point Burrows will draw back into his PK duties. Does that make Schaefer redundant? If Scheafer isn't on the PK, he isn't much use in my opinion.

I would also prefer Tambo to stay, although Sekeres thinks differently.

mattsekeres Matthew Sekeres
Expecting Canucks W Jeff Tambellini to be sent down to clear roster room for Alex Burrows

Why does Desbiens get a free pass? Has he done anything that has jumped out?
