Best place to watch the habs in....downtown Toronto ?

So yeah...

I'm working in Toronto for a month. Last week I went to the hoops or whatever and I had to wait 20 minutes for a waitress to get me the game on my small, not-hd, table-tv.

I don't think they like the habs much there.

So yeah anybody knows a place where I'm 100% sure to see the habs on a big ass HD TV with some beer and habs fan ? It prolly don't exist but if it does I'd like to know. Hotel room is just too boring.

I'm on downtown Yonge street so I'd like to find a place in walk distance.

Sigh...Toronto

Apparently Kilgours is the place to go.

I heard the owner is a hab fan.

Kilgour's is well regarded, and there's also a bar out in the Beach called The Fill Station (east end of Queen street, and I mean really near the end) that's turned into a full-on Habs bar that shows every game on the big screen. Leafs will get priority if both are on, of course, but Habs will be on at least two big tvs regardless.

Fill Station has good food too. Why not try Maple Leaf square. They're calling it the best sports bar in the world. I'm sure they'll do some Habs. Tons of demand for the Habs here.

I'm a born and raised Torontonian and a born and raised Habs fan...so my house

But honestly, Kilgour's is THE place to go. Fill Station is good too, but a lot newer (i live in the upper beaches so it's awesome having a Habs friendly spot nearby)

yeah I can't go to Maple leaf square tonight since the leafs are also playing.

I'm considering getting tickets for the game, but then I'd have to wash my eyes :help

Kilgour's is absolutely the place to go. It's at Bloor & Spadina. Get there at about 6:30-7:00 cause there's not many seats.

They'll have the Leafs game showing on a small TV in the corner. The Habs game will be on, with full sound from RDS' feed. It's a great, great time.

Enjoy! Post back here on your experience!

Yes, Kilgour's is all but guaranteed to play the Habs game tonight. I caught a few games there during last year's playoffs

Kilgour's will always have the Canadiens game on. It is a true Canadiens bar, and the place fills up. I was there last Friday for the Islanders match. Fantastic atmosphere.

I live on Yonge and Dundas, and would be up to watch the games with anyone from Toronto. We could have some sort of gathering, as there are many of us around.

Can someone post some pictures of the inside of Kilgour's? Just curious to see what it's like.

Definitely Kilgour's. I catch five or ten games there each year and it's always fun. Great burgers and wings.

As a backup, The Madison is also a good sports bar (the basement portion) with cheap beer and decent food. Usually has some Habs fans and the game on. There were two or three tables this past Saturday (although the sound was the Leafs game). It's only two blocks away, so if Kilgour's is full, just head East to Madison Avenue.
