Good Lord.

In case it is not yet apparent, Dany Heatley is untouchable.

I'm not remotely tempted with this deal. Pavel is a nice piece and reaching his prime years. He'll probably be able to bring in 75 points per season.

Dany is younger and more productive. He nearly averaged a PPG in a season that began with a horrific wreck that maimed him and killed someone close to him. He's coming off an MVP performance in the worlds. He can be charasmatic in a town that thrives on image. He's already earned an "A" on this team implying that he's a positive force in the clubhouse. Jiri Fischer and a late 1st rounder are hardly the filler needed to swing this deal.

:lol

Heatley is untouchable, come on, EVERYBODY should know that. Even if he wasn't that doesn't come remotely close to landing Heatley..Heatley is much more productive than Datsyuk. Sure, Datsyuk is a great player, and like Rhodes Rage says, he's capable of 75 points a year, but had Heatley been healthy all year and had he been 100% mentally, he probably could've put up 40 goals and 100 points this year.

To Atl: Fischer, Datsyuk
To Det: 1st Rnd Pick 10, Kurtis Foster, Jim Slater

That last deal is just horrid PS.

While I would not make the proposed Detroit deal, it certainly isn't that bad an effort.

Horrid ... for Atlanta or Detroit? If I'm Atlanta, I'd make Peter's deal.

What's wrong with my deal.

Fischer is a bit of an enigma on whether he can fulfill his potential (He won't do it playing as a 5th/6th dman in Detroit) so it is fairly difficult to gauge what his value will be if traded to a team such as Atlanta.
I agree that Datsyuk is a top point per game player. However I think that in my proposal Atlanta gives up reasonable package for him and Fischer.
Detroit will get a top ten pick, one that they haven't had in ages; Jim Slater is Atlanta's top forward prospect coming off a great season in college in which he was nominated for the Hobey; while Foster is Atlanta's 2nd best d-man prospect who is rounding his game nicely in the AHL.

I think Detroit could go for this deal if they wanted to inject some more youth into their team and possibly rebuild for the future.

It really wasn't that lopsided a deal. Pavel Datsyuk is a terrific young player. Fishcer >>> Foster and we get a first-round pick thrown in for good measure. I'd still pass because Heatley is our franchise player, but it really wasn't that outrageous.
Well the problem is that the poster has already made several other proposals and they've always favored the Wings. The pile of trash got to high and came down mountain in my "harsh wording"-avalanche.

BTW I deleted my dumba$$ post, because I don't really feel like it.

I do not think Slater + #10 overall equals Datsyuk, and Foster is certainly not equal to Fischer at this stage of his career.

Datsyuk is a special player, perhaps on par with Heater or Ilya if he was 3-5 years younger.

That's not bad of a deal, but I don't think Heatley is going anywhere.

It would take a player off a scoring forward off your roster to get datsyuk.

This second trade is ridiculous come on Datsyuk isn't a piece of garbage here. Let's end this bad thread.

what's wrong with your proposal? for starters you are taking two of detroit's brightest lights and offering nothing that can play in the nhl right now, and some stuff that could never play in the nhl. call fischer and datsyuk whatever you wish, but they are nhl players, young nhl players with unique skills for their positions and young players that *still* have tremendous upside..

you say fischer won't develop as a 5/6 dman in detroit. if chelios retires and schneider can't be retained, he's already number 3. if one of these two stays, he's number 4. at the absolute worst, he's a 5th dman for another year and would be stuck playing with either schneider, hatcher, or chelios. that isn't too bad at all.

imo, that entire package is not even close to getting datsyuk alone
