I think if Kipper has a solid game we'll pull out a win... while everyone likes to focus on the doom and gloom, I think people should be at least a little encouraged by the fact that good goaltending would have given us a win against Colorado and would have made the Caps game much closer
no idea what to expect given the flames inconsistent play. Also throw in the Moss factor and who knows?! I know he isn't an impact player, but you never know how he'll change the lineup and chemistry.
Seriously I'd settle for a low scoring OT loss. No more 6 goal periods this year please. Saturday was the first regular season game I got to go to and I almost cried. Never heard the flames get booed that bad before...WOW!
November is going to be the hardest month for the Flames in their schedule. After this month is over I think we will all know what kind of team this is going to be. There is lots of hard tests for the Flames ahead this month and they will either pass or fail them. I don't know who will win tonight, If I had to guess I would say Detroit because the Flames always seem to have a way of letting the Wings creep back into the 3rd period against and we have shown so far that we have trouble closing teams out.
If Calgary can pull out a win here, it would be huge for their confidence and hopefully a sign of things to come for this month. This team needs to put up or shut up. Its time for Iginla to prove to the hockey world that he still has something and show he is still an elite forward in the NHL. This is gut check time, this game IMO will set the tone for the rest of the season because it will show how this edition of the Flames deals with adversity. Lets GO FLAMES, make this city believe in you!!
Bouwmeester and Regehr are two extremely good defencemen. Having them on the same pairing could work wonders as a shutdown pair. However both are L D-men so there could be some issues. I like to see Sutter mixing the pairings as he didn't touch them much last year but was all over the place with the forwards.
BMo should make a good addition to the 2nd line and be a good fit with the two Fins. Bourque and Backlund were good together last year and they should continue to be this year. Moss will have all the opportunity to succeed on that line. Hopefully he can play well and be able to net us a return.
