Henrik Lundqvist -- The King started the season as our third-ranked goalie, but the fact that none of the elite netminders have gotten off to great starts, gives Lundqvist the edge. Oh, and he's won four of his last five starts while allowing just five total goals in those four victories. He's pretty good to say the least.
I would say Hank is #2 (if we're going strictly off play from October). Thomas is outplaying Lundqvist by a small margin. Both have been nothing short of outstanding though.

Reason: Typed December instead of October.
I dont know. Its close between thomas and henrik. I know savard is out for them, but I think they're forwards showcase a little more talent especially with a guy like Horton who has gotten off to a good start. I know thats the offense and were talking about netminders, but at the same time if you have a good offense it takes pressure off a goalie. And thats not to say our offense has been bad but you never when there going to be a night where we cant find the net, and its not like we;ve been scoring a ton of goals in our wins, they have been hard fought close wins. The difference makers has been a combination of shot blocking and henrik standing on his head. Some of the saves he made against chicago were just jaw dropping. Thats why i give the edge to henrik. But then again i havent seen thomas play much this year and i go to school up in massachusetts.

I have both on my team and Kiprusoff Pretty damn happy.
What does that have to do with this years team and how he is playing?
More to do with me poking fun.
Cechmanek had a few good years, then got forced back to Europe when NHL shooters figured out his unique style. Thomas has lasted longer than I had expected but eventually it will become clear why he didnt crack the NHL until age 30.
wow picture this we have one of the worst defense for years and year in and year out hes a top 3 goalie.
I said it last year, that hes the best goalie in the league, I just hate the fact that just becasue Miller had one great season everyone puts Miller ontop of Lundqvist.
Lundqvist just needs one venza and one stanley cup under his belt then he will be a lock for hall of fame.
nhl shooters don't adjust like that. tim thomas is not just diving at every shot that comes his way. he's square gets down into a butterfly but is scrambly around his net. its not like picking top corners on butterfliers like carey price that drop to quickly. the guy battles and finds ways to stop pucks. a tight sliding butterly isn't always the quickest way to get to a puck on the other side of the net sometimes throwing the closest piece of your body at it is.
nhl shooters aren't just going to figure out tim thomas. he's a good goalie who didnt have any explosiveness last year playing hurt. he also plays behind a great defense so alot of his scrambly saves never are followed up for easy rebound goals.
