Skinner - Staal - LaRose is looking really dangerous tonight.

Gorgeous play by Samsonov. 1st career goal for Matsumoto.

It's official, Jon Matsumoto has overtaken Brandon Dubinsky for the title of best hockey player in the universe.

So many of our players do not drive the net with their sticks down. Matsumoto just exhibited why it's a necessity. Great goal for him and smart play not to go in trying to move bodies.

Highest career goals-per-game of anyone on the roster.

Don't know if anyone was listening to the Canes PA announcer in the background of their feed, but he announced Samsonov, Tlusty, AND Kostopoulis as having assists on Matsumoto's goal...

And the NYI announcers call anybody remotely small "Skinner".

It's hilarious how many times the Isles announcers have gotten our players wrong. They just called Dwyer "Skinner" two times in a row

And Staal scores to make it 3-0. Who are these guys?

Wiz is such a piece of ****. Everyone loves him because of his action against Avery, but he's a giant ******.

He is good though, I will give him that. I have been a fan of his style of play ever since he was with the Hawks. I was hoping we could get him out of there for pennies on the dollar the way Anaheim did.

He's exactly like Avery, in terms of limiting themselves. Both he and Avery are good players if they simply focus on the game. Once Avery starts trying to agitate or Wiz gets...whatever it is that makes him make stupid and dirty plays, they're not nearly as effective.

Can't believe the Islander announcers were trying to pin that on Ruutu though. Talking about how Ruutu's going to try and agitate and get under your skin and how that penalty was an example of it. Pretty sure Ruutu wasn't expecting to get crushed when his back was turned, regardless of who it was.

Less effective as players, perhaps, but when Avery is around acting like a **** (starts with c ends with k) the Rangers play much better. He throws other teams off their games, and that's what he's paid to do. It's similar to the HF mentality in overrating defensive forwards- a goal not scored is just as good as a gaol scored, right? Avery can reduce the other team's effectiveness much more then he can increase the Ranger's effectiveness by cutting out the crap and playing as a normal player.
