This is Snows 4th season as GM and he has accomplished absolutely nothing in his tenure. In his first season, with a roster that was not his he was able to make the playoffs, while trading for Ryan Smyth. That may have been his best moment, BUT after trading for Smyth to go for a playoff run he attempted to trade his 40 goal guy which makes no sense. That offseason he went on to buy out Yashin, our best player in an attempt to sign Smyth and failed. Say what you want about Yashin he was the best player the team had for awhile and since he has left the team has been in the bottom 5, is that a coincidence?
Since than we have only heard the "re-build". Year 1 of the re-build he rushed Bailey into the league when he clearly was not ready, and it has showed the past 2 plus seasons. Snow managed to finish in 30th place which is unacceptable while never getting an NHL quality goalie for the entire year so we had Denis and Mac.
Last season the Isles looked horrible and iced an AHL quality defense the entire season. The season was a mess, and the Isles looked awful. This year he managed to only bring in PAP on offense and brought in an offensive dman in Wiz, so he failed yet again to address the teams needs
The guy has accomplished zero its time to hold him accountable for the team we see today. Prospects look nice and he has stocked up some good looking ones but that is meaningless for this season, and finishing last every season should lead to a nice pool of prospects. Finally, he was the GM for the 15 year deal, if he had balls/was a good GM he steps in and tells Wang its a no go.
One or two of my facts may be wrong, but unfortunately Wang can not be fired so Snow is next in line.
Hard to do much when you cant spend over the cap floor. And also play in the worst arena in the league.
And I'm not defending Snow but I think people are overreacting a bit, every team goes on a losing streak.
They most likely are not this bad, just like they are not as good as they were playing for the first 6 or 7 games, they are likely somewhere in between.

I was expecting that, it is the standard excuse Snow has built in but what has he done for this team other than adding to the prospect pool? Good players, coaches, GM's, people really anything in life overcome the excuses and are successful, Snow has not been.

So he takes over the team with a barren farm system and next to nothing at the NHL level.
How exactly is he supposed to put a great team on the ice without spending over the cap floor?

So he has done what was expected of him, have terrible hockey teams and accomplish nothing? I don't have an answer on what he should have done as I am not in the the know and no one on this board is, but a good GM would have this team turned around more than he has right now. He has only amassed prospects because the team has been terrible, that is not an accomplishment.

Thats great, but then what? What would you do differently with whats on our plate? Should we scrap everything?

I never said he accomplished anything.
I just find it hard to call for the guys head when he hasn't been given the resources to build a competitive team.

Two things that should not have happened were the Yashin buyout and the DP contract. As for the rest of what to do I don't know. But, anyone on this board could GM this team to the bottom 5 of the league so what has he done to deserve to keep his job, it seems like he has done the minimum it takes.

It is common knowledge that Wang was responsible for the DP contract.
And we still would have been a bottom 5 team with Yashin.
Please close this, and any that pop up about Gordon too. Too many chicken little's on this board for me to take.
All I want is accountability, and apparently as fans we don't want the Isles icing an NHL roster. Snow has had money to spend and can't attract anyone to play here.

Maybe not, Yashin was a 1st line center for us when we bought him out and probably still would be today. I love what JT has done but, he is not a 1st line center yet. How many teams dump their first line center for nothing, none

Disagree on him being a first line center. There are plenty of teams in need of one, and Yashin is still playing in Russia.

I know and it sucks ass that this is the case but it's also out of our hands as fans, and stupid to call for the head of our GM who has made some solid moves and has been recognized for his efforts and smart moves and drafting thus far, same with our Olympic bound head coach (he didn't get picked out of a hat, he was picked because of the type of coach he is and his talent level and knowledge of the game).
The talent as far as players go will come but unfortunately players of that caliber cannot see past our ****hole of a building and unstable management patterns and history, therefore, again as much as it sucks, we have to home grow it, correctly. As a fan I support this team no matter the direction, no matter the talent level and no matter the roster standings at the moment.
This team has a bright future, it just has some gaps and missing pieces at the moment, most of which people forget are injured. The team that is playing right now is not the team we should be icing, but these types of seasons happen and hey, at least were not being run into the ground and the laughing stock of the NHL like the Devils.

I understand Snow has a tough job and this is not the team that he intended to have out there this year, but injuries happen to every team so we can't use that as an excuse, Rags are minus Gabby right now and they keep chugging along. The problem is Snows seasons all look too familiar for me
There is no panic I have been saying this for the last season or so maybe not so much on here but to friends, and the team under Snow has yet to improve so again I ask what has he accomplished?

We have played 11 games...
Just like it was too early to call ourselves a playoff team after our hot start, it is too early to say we will be a lottery team after a losing streak.
I don't have issue with these kinds of threads. I dissagree with it but no issue.
Wang was the guy for the 15 year deal to DP. Snow has done a great job filling the talent pool.
OTOH Gordon is not an NHL caliber coach. This opinion is not based on the losing streak. This team has been flat since those games against Toronto and Tampa as well.
We were fortunate to win those two but something should have been done to clean up the play on the ice. It's also becoming apparent that Gordon's system probably doesn't translate to the NHL.
