Any up date on Humhuis? this is a lot of time off for a bruised foot.

He's going to miss the Avalanche game, so at least 7 games missed.

We just have no luck with injuries on the back-end.

As mentioned in the injury thread the earliest return is probably Detroit on Saturday, but it's more likely he'll join the team on our next road trip back East.

Malhotra's line earned more minutes with thier last game,IMHO.

Schnieder has played well and shown some poise. I don't think he'll struggle.

The Sedins will continue to focus on Burrows, trying to get him started. It'll take a few games, I think.

Phaneuf's injury supports my theory that there is some sort of ninja kick that has been discovered in the NHL. Twice for Bieksa can't be an accident,FFS!

Need Schneider to have a good game, he may be due for a dose of reality as a rookie here and there. 5 wins in a row is tough in the NHL, very tough. Been average on the road, Stewart is probably good a goal as well. I'll say the Avs double us up 4-2. Lets hope I'm wrong though, get some big points against a division foe.

Colorado's speed will generate inevitable chances. The Canucks bigger Dmen and forwards have to box them out and keep them to the perimeter.

I hate to be a pessimist, but with the road woes we've had the past couple seasons, coupled with some sloppy defensive play lately, I think Colorado is poised to capitalize.

5-3 Colorado.

Vancouver goals:

H. Sedin (D. Sedin, Burrows)
Burrows(H. Sedin, D. Sedin)
PP -Ehrhoff (Edler, Hansen)

Colorado goals:
Liles (Duchene, Yip)
Galiardi (Duchene-Liles)
Stewart (Unassisted)
O'Reilly (Stastny)
EN-Hannan (Foote)

Prove my 'gut' wrong, Canucks!

with Schneider starting, it will be an interesting game. I dont think he's going to be as fortunate as his home starts. We'll see what happens.

Good luck tonight.

Avs going with 7 D tonight so both Liffiton and Shattenkirk will play, Van Der Gulik is the scratch up front for us.

Should be a good game, I have a feeling it is going to be a back and forth game, not sure who will win though.

Seems like a fair assessment. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Ballard's footspeed will be a big bonus in this regard, provided that the AV gives him some more ice time. If we get a big game from Ballard, I think the Canucks can stifle some of those fast young players -- maybe make them think twice about coming down the boards.

If not, we better hope Edler and Ehrhoff have a better game tonight.

With Anderson out we should be the better team on paper tonight. We'll see how it unfolds though.

I'd like to see a goal from one of Edler or Ballard tonight.

I think Edler is due for his 1st of the season today. I just hope the Canucks don't come into this one lazy...the Avs are a fast team that can punish you quickly.

Not as long as Liffiton's. NHL to the Danish league, then back. Don't see that often.

He apparently isnt close to returning. The bruise on the ball of his foot is close to a stressline fracture.

Apparently has to be REALLY careful with it.

Reeeeeeeally looking forward to this game. Honestly, it could go either way. I definitely think our 2nd line is the biggest question mark tonight. Here's hoping Sammy and Raymond don't look so lost out there tonight.

I hope Desbiens gets trapped in a well on his way to the game or something.

I agree with this.
Poor road team, high altitude, backup goalie, speedy Colorado team = recipe for a loss.

Obviously I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the Canucks lose tonight in spectacular fashion.

It would be sweet if Scotty scored one since he's my cousin, but unfortunately that's just not his thing lol. I think 5-3 is a good score, but for the Canucks

Yep, like many others have stated, I see a difficult game for the Canucks. At least we get to see Duchene in action.

This is the first difficult game Cory is going to play this season. I'm very interested in seeing how he deals with the pressure.
