Now might be the time to trade Tim Thomas

and what i mean by now is sometime between now and when Sturm comes back. I can't possibly see his value getting any higher at this point, he is bound to come back down to earth so why not get some good value and solve your cap issue at the same time? if we've learned anything in the post lock out NHL its that you dont need two elite goalies to win a cup and you do need D men that can move the puck.

Getting a little sick of saying it.

Thomas has an NTC

In order to be traded, Thomas must waive his NTC.

In order to believe THomas might waive his NTC, he has to have some reason to wish to leave the Bruins.

Thomas is playing on a good Bruins team.

Thomas is starting for the Bruins.

Thomas is winning all of his games

Thomas is comfortable in Boston.

Thomas' family is comfortable in Boston

Conclusion: Thomas has no particular reason to want to leave the Bruins.

Therefore: He has no incentive to waive the NTC.

Therefore: He won't waive the NTC

He WILL NOT waive the NTC.

He.. WILL NOT FREAKING WAIVE.. the FREAKING NTC!!!

Yes, let's give up the goalie who is undefeated with a .75 GAA

Best goaltending start in Bruins history + No Trade Clause = Tim's going nowhere.

And there are plenty of moves to get cap compliant that don't involve the best goalie in the league .
Just not happening .

I don't think anyone can make a judgment call on whether to trade Thomas yet, because we still haven't seen a good team play in front of Rask.

I think until we see if the boys can play with Rask backing them up (this year, as it's yet to be shown), then we can maybe discuss Thomas trade possibilities.

That's a very weak "maybe" though with the start Timmy's had and his NTC.

With all respect, this is deja vu all over again. Just reference other threads, everything that could be said has already been said.

Bench the best goalie we've got in the middle of a streak of this magnitude ?

I'm just giving you a chance to seriously look at your thread and comments and honestly say you believe what you just typed

Ugh.

Rather demote ryder to ride the bus, or get rid of Wheeler, Paille, Hunwick, Ferrence.
Dont care how. Demote, Trade, whatever it takes.
Still dont think we would get much value for Thomas, plus why would you trade a guy on a high like he is on? Plus why would he waive his NTC?

There are other areas to go to other than dumping a goalie with a 7-0 start and gaa under .80

If anything this is the worst case scenario from the perspective of trading Thomas. Thomas is carrying the team, which besides the obvious concerns centered also means Rask is not.

Thomas has 7 wins and Rask has 2 excuses. Until that evens out a little we can't spare the veteran..

Yeah let's bench the hottest goaltender on earth right now just to piss him off so he'll want to leave.

I dunno, I'm not the most on the ball guy here, just ask anyone around they'll let you know, but I think if one of the two of us hasn't been paying attention I don't think it's me this time.

UGH. people i realize he is playing crazy good right now, but how long you think he is gunna keep this up? you think at the end of the season he is gunna be 40-3 with a sub 1 GGA or something? its called selling high. lots of teams do this when a player is playing above their skill level.

Yeah, like this hasn't been discussed ad nauseam around here.

Less trade Thomas, and more Lucic to the minors threads.

Just my opinion.

Wow.
It's like watching a swimmer caught in a rip tide.
You want to help him ..........you try and give directions for him to swim parallel to the beach...... he won't listen......he's panicing.....he drowns.

He.

Will.

Not.

Waive.

The.

N.

T.

C.

Hey if you want to destroy the clubhouse by staging an obvious and very contentious battle of wills with a veteran fighter like Timmy, try a gane of play chicken with a guy who can stand up and stone an onrushing Alex Ovechkin, you can go ahead and call for it. It's stupid, it could well destroy the whole team from the inside out, but hey, free country I guess. Count me out though.
