I say let him get 7 more wins in a row and 3 more shutouts ..................... then we could tell him he has not lived up to his contract and he needs to play better or else he will have to forfeit his NMC and be sent to the North Pole and play against the top leading scorer Chris Cringle of the Alaskian A-holes.

Just kidding LT ! .................. Seriously ............. Timmy is not going anywhere ! He looks great this year so far and if Chia moved him this early in the season ............ fans would demand his head on a platter. Also we have not seen what Rask can do this season ? .................. Just because Rask did well last season doesn't mean he will do well this season ? ................... to many ifs here ! Bysides lets get rid of our dead wood and not the fine furniture

Damn I did not even think about that. Now that this is all coming together, it is all starting to make sense and is a fiendishly clever idea

Yeah. That's stupid. That's a stupid idea. The players will see what the organization does to it's good players and will more than likely want to leave.
Not to mention potential guys who may come here will roll their eyes and pass on Boston when word gets out that Boston strong-arms their players into leaving.

Stupidest ****ing idea I've ever heard in my life.

Also stupid thread.

Thomas isn't going anywhere. Get used to it buddy.

"Chia should start laying the groundwork on this one."

What groundwork? Threats? What's he going to do shout at Thomas? Point his finger at him? Why in a million years would the general manager of a team order a player out of games when that player is doing something unbelievable that no one in the HISTORY of the franchise has ever done???

Oh I see, so we put a gun to his head and force him out the door. Or, we could keep Thomas knowing that he won't continue to post a GAA below 1, but anticipate that his injury problems from last year are behind him and that we own the best goalie tandem in the NHL. To get under the cap, we then move any of Paille/Wheeler/Hunwick to another team, and Ryder/Sturm to the AHL. Problem solved?

Trading Thomas now is like leaving the room after you got the girl home and she's a little tipsy!! Are you serious? Enjoy the ride.

In before the "if Wayne Gretzky and Bobby Orr can get traded" comments. Thomas is tearing it up, all other needs have been superceeded.

The time for this thread will be in the offseason once we see how the playoffs go.

i'd rather keep Ryder and/or Sturm. that's a lot of scoring pressure to put on Seguin and Caron at such a young age. i also gotta believe that the two rookies at some point in the season are gunna hit the rookie wall, you may end up needing Ryder before the season is over.

Now is the time to trade Thomas?
Time to trade without a doubt our best player?
Quite possibly best in the League right now in his position.
Smart.

But why stop there?
Who else is good?
Chara!
He's our best defenceman. Lets trade him. Nows the time.
And when Savard comes back, trade him immediately.
Until then, lets trade our best forward, Nathan Horton.

It would make great business sense.
Cuz as we know, its not all about winning Cups you know.

Oy.

You would keep Ryder and Sturm instead of Thomas.

Really.

At no time in the last 3 years did that make sense.

That would be great for team chemistry and players we wish to sign would love to come here if we did that.

Waiting for the offseason is a dangerous strategy, IMHO. You trade Thomas when there's a market for him.

You can't force a guy to accept a trade. I mean, you could humiliate him until he demands one, but that would be the worst PR move I'd ever seen.

Plus, until you know Rask has his game back, Thomas actually has more value playing games for the Bruins than creating cap relief. If Rask falters, there's no guarantee Goalie McBackup will be able to carry the team and then we'll have a bunch of depth and no goalie to win games with...

Imho Seguin is the one we should trade. Everyone thinks he's so awesome being the #2 pick. His value will never be this high again given his sweet cap hit. Imho trade him asap!

Right???
