Hawks bringing up Morin tomorrow

Met coach Q at a Tribune event tonight and spoke with him briefly. Real nice guy.
Four takeaways:
1) Morin is coming up tomorrow, definitely sounds like a a top six role,
2) Sounds like the staff is considering a big lines shakeup. What else is new, right?
3) Q volunteered Ben Smith as an excellent hockey player, and of the Rockford guys, the one beyond Morin that could most see his role increase, maybe a lot (2nd line center, is that crazy?)
4) When I asked about the potential role for Makarov on the big club, he cringed. He's seems to be a ways off in their eyes.

1- I hope your not lying
2- Great,,,,,,, Scott and Pisani will be on our #1 line with Toews
3- If he is so excellent why did we send him down after his good play?
4- Q hates Russians so it is no suprise

If Morin is not called up you should have to change your name to ArnasonBellCalder as punishment for a few days

Man what a breath of fresh air that is to hear. Please let it be so. Please let Morin show he's got "it", the Hawks are desperate for some help on that LW. And happy to hear they are pleased with Ben Smith, who REALLY impressed me.

I'm glad to hear this. His playmaking during the preseason really impressed me. I hope he does well. I also hope it's not just until Hossa comes back.

It's about time. Should've made room for him to be on the team to begin with - he earned it then (referring to Morin).

Q sometimes sends a lookalike to meet and greets. You can spot the fake Q by his weak 'stache. Did it look legit?

No doubt.

He earned a roster spot out of camp and didn't get a roster spot. Most of us on here weren't too happy about that. I hope if he plays well, he'll get the chance to stay for awhile. I hope it's not just for him to get a feel for what the NHL is like in the regular season.

With Morin up and Hossa and Bolland still out ... taking a swag at the lineup -

Morin-Toews-Kane
Stalberg-Sharp-Brouwer
Bickell-Dowell-Skille
Hendry-Kopecky-Pisani

If Morin does well enough to stick around after Hoss and Bollie return, I'd put Toews and Hossa back together and go with this lineup -

Morin-Toews-Hossa
Stalberg-Sharp-Kane
Brouwer-Bolland-Skille
Kopecky-Dowell-Pisani

Happy to hear about Morin. He has the skills for sure.

Happy to hear about Smith too! Bring him back! Love the way that kid plays.

Now if Stalberg could only just suck then you would really cream your pants.

Jesse Rogers hasn't tweeted anything yet. He's usually on top of these things.

Q is always very guarded when he speaks to the media about the roster so I'm not sure why he would spill the beans to someone he just met. I'd like to see it, but I'll believe it when I read it on the Hawk homepage.

Intrigued that Q would be as emphatic as he was last week saying Moring isn't ready yet and now the kid's coming up for a top-six role. Also indicates that we may be missing Bolland for longer than Saturday, which explains why Hossa never went on IR but Bolland landed there pretty quickly.

If/when Morin comes up, my guess is he'll be with a bigger forward, which leads me to guess he'll be w/ Sharp & Kopecky more than Kane & Toews. If you put Morin & Kane on the same line, the other team will come out swinging all day, every day. I would like to see Stalberg stay in the top 6 as well, which has as much to do w/ me liking Stalberg as it does my pure hatred of the workload they're giving Kopecky. Without Hossa he's a ghost; there's a reason Q scratched him for half of the playoffs last year.

Here's hoping Morin does indeed come up.

When Q made that statement, Morin was either injured or had just returned from injury. It was unclear exactly what he meant as he essentially gave a 3 word answer to the question " Not ready yet".
I got the impression that Q wanted to call him up as well and that when he was 100 percent again, he would consider doing so. With Bolland and Hossa out, this could be his opportunity.
