Looks like it will hopefully be a good move and maybe he'll be in the lineup for a while (with any luck). This team needs Hossa and Bolland to be back and performing in top form as well as a kid like Morin to make some headlines in order to get this offense back in shape.

Thanks, picked Morin up in the fantasy pool we have going on based solely on your information. It will be really exciting to see what this kid can do, especially against the team that traded him.

P.S. to all: If he doesn't record a point in his first few games, can we please not write him off as a 4th liner?

I haven't read much about Morin other than HF's lackluster prospect review... how good was he in camp?

I haven't seen him play in the AHL but in camp, he was arguably the best Hawk offensively. Very good speed, good hands and scored goals. It bothered me then, that right from the get-go he seemed to be slated against Stahlberg for that final spot. He clearly outplayed Stahlberg (and many others actually) but Victor got better with each game.scrimmage and stuck around. Being 19 and inexperienced was the deciding factor in sending him down but he certainly looked good and we all knew he would get a shot before too long. I didn't expect it to be until at least 2011 however. I suppose the only real question mark is his ability to take the physical aspect of the NHL..

And in the physical regard, he hardly had any issues during the preseason. I know the preseason means nothing, but it's worth noting.

Great call and great call up. Having this confirmed is encouraging me to imagine a team without Pisani. Replacing him with Smith would push the cap to the limit but they would have the best team possible on the ice.

2) Sounds like the staff is considering a big lines shakeup. What else is new, right?
3) Q volunteered Ben Smith as an excellent hockey player, and of the Rockford guys, the one beyond Morin that could most see his role increase, maybe a lot (2nd line center, is that crazy?)
4) When I asked about the potential role for Makarov on the big club, he cringed. He's seems to be a ways off in their eyes.
Very nice job. Now if the hacks at the Trib, Times or Herald were only this vigilant.

Pretty awesome that his NHL debut comes against the team that drafted and traded him.

Let's not get our hopes too high for the kid just yet. I'll be happy if he comes in, gets some chemistry with the top 6, and doesn't look too out of place defensively.

He looked like the best player out there...including our veterans.

Sharp really needs someone on his line that doesn't suck, or we are really wasting his offensive talent. Notice how his point production went completely in the crapper when he got put on a line with scrubs a few days ago. That line needs a playmaker to be successful. I'd more like to see a top 6 something like:

Morin-Toews-Kopecky
Brouwer-Sharp-Kane

I think the best top 6 right now is:

Morin-Sharp-Kane
Stalberg-Toews-Brouwer

Then we are changing the problem to Toews playing with scrubs instead of Sharp. Our best four offensive talents with Hossa out are Kane, Sharp, Toews, and Morin. Three of those should not be on the same line IMO, and Kane and Morin should not be on the same line because they are both pretty small. That leaves either Kane/Sharp and Morin/Toews together, or Kane/Toews and Morin/Sharp.

LSS - 1
Eklund - 0

Glad to see Morin get the call. Only saw him in about 1 or 2 preseason games and he looked good to me. Hopefully he keeps it up.

According to Adam Jahns Morin will be playing on the second line

Stalberg-Toews-Kane
Brouwer-Sharp-Morin
Kopecky-Dowell-Bickell
Scott-Pisani-Skille

Well we better get production from our top 6 because that bottom 6 sucks ###

Feel bad for Skille as he will be wasted on that 4th line.

####### Scott playing 3+ minutes vs Thrashers should be fun

Hopefully Morin and Stalberg impress in their roles and when Hossa comes back, he pushes Brouwer down a line and Scott of the starting roster where he is then waived and never heard from again. Same thing for Bolland pushing Pisani off the roster.

Eager is stupid but he isn't that stupid

Eager only fights guys in his weight class

Another worthless game to play Scott in. Like I said his 3+ minutes should be entertaining

I sat in the 200 level for the NJ game and watching Scott play live really is funny. He is just so so bad. I was shocked when I looked at the box score after the game and saw that he only played 3.5 minutes. Seemed like a lot more.

Yeah it's because of how noticably behind the play he is. You just can't have defensemen in this day and age who have to turn around and skate forward just to keep ahead of a breakout from the other zone twenty feet in front of him.

He was a terrible signing.

I don't understand how he was good enough to play in the NCAA when there is no fighting allowed.
