3-2 Minnesota.. don't wanna watch this game, seeing Nystrom with the opposition will be weird.

Maybe a road trip is exactly what this team needs right now. A chance to get away from the scrutiny and drama that is going on at home.

I can't even predict who will win. I just want a good game, but I don't even know if that's too much to ask for.

You got Minnesota, a team who, in the early goings-on of the season, has an open player-vs-coach feud. They're playing OK off the rage factor of their coach.

You got the Flames, where there isn't a real disconnect from the coach, just a failure to act out the entire 3-part ballet, and have lost points because of it.

Here's hoping at least for 2 fights from Jackman and Nystrom. That's about all I can predict and hope for.

Can you really blame him for leaving? This team didn't look great near the end of that season, and he got a substantial raise. I hold no grudge against him.

Really? Nystrom was pure class during his time in Calgary. There should be no hard feelings for him getting a decent contract & playing time with the Wild. There just wasn't any room (& cap space) with the Flames.

Although I do hope he gets bumped around a bit by his old pals.

I agree. If he was able to cash in playing a bottom 6 role, I can't say I blame him for taking it. He played his ass off while he was here, so I too have no ill feelings towards the guy. Wish him nothing but the best, except when he plays the Flames.

I'm pretty happy with Jackman here, though.

yes really and I can blame him... he fed us lip service about wanting to stay but he was only looking to cash in from day 1... I could respect a guy that stayed quiet and didn't say he wanted to stay... but not a guy who just fed us a bunch of ******** about wanting to stay

As per Roger Millions' twitter - Glencross out, Meyer in. Staios in, Mikkelson out.

EDIT:

Randy Sportak:

Quote:
#Flames roster changes. LW Curtis Glencross out and Stefan Meyer in. Coach: Glencross has a "boo boo". D Steve Staios in for Mikkelson

Sounds like Glencross is out tonight due to some sort of injury. Not because of his play.

I thought Glencross getting demoted to the 4th line really affected his game against Detroit. There was one shift in particular in the last 5 minutes of the 3rd period that he turned the puck over in the nuetral zone twice on the same shift. And he looked frustrated alot last game. Not saying thats why he's sitting, just my thoughts. But outside of that game he has been solid pretty much every game.

I've had no problems with Mikkelson lately. Staios must be working really hard in practice I suppose.

Maybe Sutter didn't offer him a good contract. I wouldn't say he chased the money, he is not overpaid by any means and that raise was well deserved. Can't expect him to take another 500k a year contract just because we were tight on cap space.

I agree, I forget who but Mikkelson absolutely destroyed someone last game. When I first saw the hit I though it was Regehr, and I was very surprised to see it was Mikkelson. Hopefully its a sign of things to come.

Every NHL player says that, in fact I think it's typical club policy to ask the players to say that, I don't think they have much choice. He said he's like to stay but would consider other options, like every other player says.

Sutter said he offered Nystrom the same money as Glencross... that means Nystrom left over 200k

Don't forget that he's also an American and played college hockey nearby in Michigan. Higgins in a similar boat. It's one thing for Canadian boys to want to play at home.

Man speaking of energy players gone, I miss Prust. Last night I watched the Rangers game and he took down Carcillo in a fight

On another note: we need a win tonight!

That part bugs me, but I'm not overly upset about it at the end of the day. These guys are in a job trying to earn a living, and especially when you consider the bottom six guys careers can end after one ineffective season, $200k isn't something you leave on the table. And frankly, spending Glencross money on a fourth line player (because that's where he should fit on the Flames) is a gross mismanagement of assets anyways...
