Yea... $200,000 is not a lot of money at all.

Anyways, 1.2M-1.4M is way too much for a 4th liner. Let him go.

I wonder which Flames team will show up this one? It's hard to be optimistic.

clutter is on our first line...i think that pretty much means we've already resigned ourselves to losing this one. Should be a boring blow-out as the Wild won't even be able to get the puck in your zone more than a handful of times.

I don't understand the Nystrom ire...$200k is a significant chunk of your salary when you make what he does. Fairly certain Iginla wouldn't have signed for $6m per year.

And an extra year on his deal. Guys like Nystrom have a short window. Good for him.

Jackman has been almost as good as Nystrom in every way but production. Great pick-up. I don't blame Nystrom for chasing the money.

My first thought was that Glenner was a healthy scratch and I had no problem with it. Glenner has played well but his discipline and attitude (appears) to be an issue. Bourque deserves to be on the 2nd line but a passer (ie Morrison) would be more ideal.

I am curious to see how long it takes for Tanguay and Iggy to get separated. If they don't produce it is inevitable.

You can say that about most Calagry players. Quite good, if only they produced more.....

Decent first period for both teams. Iginla with his patented slap shot from way too far out to be a threat. He can shoot from there all he wants but he will never score from there unless Dan Cloutier comes back into the league.

How are the Flames doing? Just want an honest opinion. I'd say the Flames blow it up while they have a chance.

Tanguay

Thats now 2 consecutive games that he has taken a penality in the final minute of the game with the Flames trailing by a goal.

Tanguay NEEDS to be better. This poor start has ruined his season, and that IS a guarantee.

We played great, i thought. We ran into a hot goaltender and the bounces didn't go our way. I don't blame Tanguay for the penalty. Burns took him into Backstrom.

Gee, looked a lot like last season.

He was by far the best player on the ice tonight. Some pretty passes where his teammates couldn't capitalize, and a couple shots where the puck would have gone in 9/10 times.

It's always nice to see production, but the effort was there tonight. If it weren't for the posts, this would have been an easy win.

Maybe he can take a legitimate one in the next game.

Looks like we're coming out of the slump. Controlled the play and had the better chances, but the bounces weren't there. Do that again the next time out, and it'll be a win.

I'm just at a loss with this team, it is so frustrating to watch them. They played a good enough game to win tonight and they still lost. As the saying goes, your best players need to be your best players and another game goes by and Iggy doesn't score when it counts. In any company the highest payed employee is usually that businesses biggest asset, and Iggy just is not doing what he is payed to do. He played a good game, but no results. I am really getting worried about this team, if they lose to Colorado thats 5 losses in row! I'm sure if that happens big changes will be made.

I don't necessarily blame Tangs on either of those penalities, but he needs be more careful with the game on the line.

Yea blame Iggy.....

Seriously he was the best forward on the ice tonight by a mile (for the flames).

He got absolutely no support from his linemates in specific Stajan who I thought was terrible tonight.

He needs to drive the net to try and score goals. He just ended up with Brent Burns pushing him in to Backstrom. Can't fault him for that.

Indeed, but he punched/shoved Backstrom.

Both Tanguay and Backstrom deserved penalties on that play/ or none at all.

Their is no way tanguay should have been sent alone to the box.

The only thing you can really hope for after a game like this is that they play like this every night. They deserved a win but couldn't manage a point. They needed some luck tonight, but they got none.

Hopefully some of the shots that went off the post will go into the net against Colorado.
