Around the NHL Tonight

Quote:
The Devils came home from their Western trip on a high after a 5-3 win in Chicago. Nothing about that trip was easy, including the harsh news that Zach Parise would be out three months after having knee surgery. But there are at least a few positive vibes around the Prudential Center these days -- especially because the Devils also may be getting Anton Volchenkov back for the first time since the second game of the season. The Rangers got blitzed 4-1 in Philadelphia on Thursday night.

With a month gone in the 2010-11 season, Boston and Washington have established themselves as members of the Eastern Conference elite, but the Capitals are in danger of ceding the season series -- and the mental edge Boston's domination would provide -- if they're unable to prevent a third early loss to the B's.

Seeing as how the morning skate just started, I guess we won't know of line changes or who the starter is.

I think MAF deserves the start though.

How many goals for Blake tonight? 3? 4?

The Pens have to win tonight. Nobody wants to stay up late only to have their team lose. Let's take care of business Sid and Geno!

I'm curious to see how long Malkin stays at center tonight. And with how many different players he lines up with. Probably the usual three positions, 6 different linemates type of night.

Any reason given for scratching Talbot tonight? If nothing else, he seems to be doing the defensive job on the checking line...though it would be nice if he buried a chance or two.

The Ducks have the potential to light Fleury up. It's hard to be optimistic.

It's not late for me, game is at 7pm and over by 10pm. Hopefully i'll be at my buddies house instead of at home watching the game. Got a busy day ahead of me. Leaving soon to watch the first showing of Due Date, then off to Montanas Resturant, then off to work to get my schedule as my 2 weeks off ends Sunday (glad i'll be going back to work...i got bored at my 4th day off and been bored since), then hopefully my buddies house to play some NHL11 and whoop his ass (NHL 11 finally suits to my needs...i love playing defense), then get some supper before gametime, then gametime!!!

Here are the forward lines being used by head coach Dan Bylsma:

Cooke-Malkin-Comrie
Talbot-Letestu-Asham
Rupp-Adams-Godard/Kennedy
Why in the &^(^$%^*(*&^(^&%$^&%&*%^()^)^* is Comrie on the 2nd line and Kennedy on the 4th!?!???!!!

I could be wrong, but it seemed to me Goligoski was playing more of the QB role last game, less that stupid rover deal.

When teams struggle on the PP, they usually simplify things...go back to hockey basics. Throw pucks to the net, crash the crease, go for rebounds, etc. We seem to be heading further and further complicated with our PP. Sad.

This team does not do that, we keep trying the same thing over and over again untill it works even if it will force us to lose 10 games...atleast it worked once, though, right?

Awesome GDT as always. Let's see if we can get the magic back.

On a side note: I'm starving, quite possibly to death.

Well he said, starving to death. So if we don't hear back from him in an hour, he could possibly be dead. Better send that Snickers to me. I will pm you the address.

Which is great except they are only fixing one problem of many. They can move guys around to get open shots but if no one takes them its a useless change.
