Trade deadline day.

The Calgary Flames are currently in 3rd place in the NW Divsion and 10th in the Western Conference trailing the 8th place team by 5 points with 17 games left to play. Assume the Flames have no injury concerns except for Langkow who has been ruled out for rest of season and have made no trades since beginning of season thus having the same roster as today.

1. What would YOU do if you were the GM of the Flames?

2. What do you think DSutter would do?

1. Lol, get the elite center for Iggy.
2. Lol, Give Jokinen more money and bring in 3 rejects from perhaps the Devils/Oilers.

Seriously though, I'd blow it up at that point. Lunatik called it a "Firesale". That would be the best move IMO.

with the flames having a new stadium in the works you want to have the best team possible for the opening which means this is our year to start over...
but personally i do this...

Iggy to Tampa bay for gagne, connelly, and there 1st and 3rd

reggie to carolina for 1st

Kipper to San jose for there 1st and maybe one of clowe or setti

then trade Hagman, white, pelech, nemiez and one of the 1st to NJ for parise...or 2 1st...

opens up lots of cap space and you get the new "face" in parise....
just a thought...now rip it apart and tell me how dumb i am! hahaha

There is zero chance that New Jersey trades Parise for that package. I don't think Calgary, nor half the teams in the league, have the assets to acquire Parise.
