it wont be in hd.
it may be in widescreen if you're lucky.

when you watch the local news on your hd channel, do you get the vancouver news or the toronto news?

for edmonton, i believe shaw shows cbchd-tor and telus shows cbchd-van. You might be able to get both on bell. This is info from a year+ ago, so it might have changed now.

watch the local news on your hd channel some time, it will tell you where your hd feed is from.

Is the game not on RDS? They'll have an HD feed.

yes they will, and that's probably what i'll be watching wherever i am. Probably wearing a sens jersey in some bar packed with habs fans.

i think the main annoyance is that cbc is a publically subsidized company with a reponsibility to serve all canadians, yet given the option between serving 1 HD-capable market and 2 HD-capable markets, they chose the 1. We should start mailing in complaints that CBC is systematically alienating the anglophone portion of bilingual fanbases, turn this into a language-based issue. That'll make them listen. It should work especially well for quebec-based anglos.

That's true, but I'll take SD over french commentators any day.

Something will have to give cbc can not have the only rights to saturday night and at the same time focus on one team more or less.

Puck drop moved back to 7:25pm according to Dave Stubbs (legit Habs media source) on twitter. Some sort of conflict with the hall of fame game.

Guide/info for channel 514 (CBC HD on Rogers) shows that they are airing the Ottawa-Montreal game.

I'll be there cheering on the boys. Leaving now. Hopefully I don't punch any drunk Habs fans. Wish me luck and good game!

I bet CBC wants to air the hall of fame ceremony nation wide.

Ah sucks. Our radio is like 1-2 seconds behind usually so it's not a problem.

So I just subscribed to RDS so I can watch the game in HD. I wish I could get the english Audio through the Rogers box and the RDS video

Amazing that sens/habs is the "national" game yet not in HD. I don't have a HD Box in my room, but still bizzare.

Couldn't you use the CBC online stream just for the audio and still watch the HD on TV?

Well, like mlandry said, you can listen the game on CJAD and I'm still amazed by the short 1-2 sec delay only. Also, the sound quality isn't that bad as you'd think.

Internet streams need to buffer so they're at best a few seconds behind. And I dunno about you, but I HATE off-sync audio.
