I beleive I got something

Spacek can be part of the solution

So you trade Hamrlik and I'm sure there are some takers out there. Is salary is almost non factor because it end at season end.

To Atlanta:Hamrlik+Carle and a 4th
To Montreal: Ron Hainsey+3rd

What does this do for both team? Well Atlanta get money free up for next year for Bogosian and getting depth also plus a vet presence on the blue line helps now.
Montreal gets back Hainsey , saves 1 million. Hainsey is suppiror to Hamrlik IMO and younger. Carle is good enough to be an NHLer and is still young. This also gives Montreal a decent pick.Atlanta also doesn't lose a pick...just gets it later.

Hainsey-Markov
Subban-Gorges
Spacek/O'Byrne-Gill

You can't deny that Price has had to turn away many, many good scoring chances this season. Good defensive teams know how to limit the amount AND the quality of the shots they concede.
Are you arguing we're giving up more chances than we were last year?

Less goals allowed, less shots, but more scoring chances allowed??..Doesn't make much sense to me.

You actually think Hainsey is better than Hamrlik?

Hamrlik is the better player, hands down. But even aside from that, you'd just be locking another hefty overpriced contract around our neck for 2 more years. I don't want Ron Hainsey. I don't want him for this year, not for free, and I don't want him for 2 more years after that. One of the nice things about Hamrlik's contract is that it expires this summer. We're fine on the cap right now, and he's playing well. Then in the summer it's gone. There's no need to overcomplicate things or burden us with a new cap inefficiency. Just let nature run its course...

Agreed, it's not true.
