That would make a 4th line now of Westgarth-Schenn/Lewis-Clifford.
It is a Godsend that we have them now. It is probably a guarantee now that Schenn and Clifford are staying.

I recall seeing Ponikarovsky block a high shot with his hand in the Nashville game. That is likely what caused his injury. Thankfully, no surgery required.

I would hope that the Kings call up Muzzin and dress him and shift Richardson up to the third line, with Schenn centering the fourth line.

I meant right about the Poni injury. And yeah, if you guys can't decipher the Olli/Kopitar thread then clearly I'm dealing with delicate people. Do you guys also wear helmets?

If the Kings are to do anything come playoff time, they'll need depth. It's a good chance to see what they've got. Not the way you want to experiment, but it is what it is. Both should be back by the new year, give or take, so plenty of hockey left after that.

Want me to give you his cell phone number so you can ask him personally? He always responds to me.

God forbid we have anything to discuss on the internet...

Clifford is likely the replacement on the third line with Richardson-Schenn-Lewis/Westgarth on the fourth line. Muzzin being the replacement on the bottom pairing and promoting either Scuderi or Greene.

Sucks but they will be fine. Richardson will be more than adequate on the third line and Schenn should learn nicely on the fourth.

Muzzin won't replace Mitchell but Greene can step up and won't b out of place. Muzzin, like Schenn will get some time to grow in the NHL as well.

I hope the decisions for Schenn and Clifford won't be based on these injuries.

I dont know if clifford could fill that spot better than Richie. It would be a tad risky, but playing against the top lines in the league might be a little stretch right now. He might prove me wrong, as clifford played well on the 1 shift I saw him play with Simmonds and Zues.

I don't think Lombardi would potentially risk their development for a month of filling in for Poni. That said, Hammond believes the Kings were planning to keep both anyway.

Obviously losing Poni and Mitchell for a month hurts, but we have someone like Richardson, who will be good in that 3rd line LW spot for the time being, and Muzzin has played good as we've seen. I'm not worried.

All is well.

So basically the Kings will be playing for a month+ with last year's team completed by some rookies.

Let's see who's going to step up to fill the void left by the 2 veterans.
It's going to be interesting, no need whatsoever to push any panic button IMO.

Crappy to see this. When healthy your team has the ability to go deep.

this. Even though I hope to see the Kings call up either Clune or Cliche, but not Loktionov. Even Moller might get a call IMO.

****ing injuries.

So we now have:

Parse-Kopi-Brown
Smyth-Stoll-Willy
Richardson/Clifford-Zus-Simmonds
Clifford/Lewis-Schenn/Richardson-Westgarth

Doughty/Scuderi?
JMFJ/Greene
Muzzin/Drewiske

Q/B

We have so much flexibility with how the pairings go. I forsee the D going how I have it so we don't have both our right shooting D on the same pairing. Plus, Scuds and DD were great last year. Only thing I could see changing is MAYBE having Muzzin and JJ and then Greene and Drewiske but I doubt it. As for the offense, don't just assume it's Clifford on the 3rd. Richie is a C/LW. He's earned that 3rd line role moreso than Clifford.
