Tlusty had a 5 goal game for the Marlies a couple years ago. Not sure about 5 goals + a shootout goal though...

Apparently it was 4-1 Marlies in the 2nd and then Omark explodes for 5 goals, lol.

Most Goals Scored, One Game - 5
Bill McDougall, Cape Breton - May 5, 1993 vs. St. John's, 8-2

Omark tied it.

so 5 regulation goals and a SO goal will for ever be known as an Omark

Note that he completed the hattrick in one period (2:nd). And in less then 8 minutes of game time.

I wonder if 5 straight goals for one player on one team is some kind of record?

Reddox scored the first one, then Omark scores the next 5 in a row.

That's like a video game or something.

When Omark is on the Oil someone may actually have a chance to win Safeway's one million dollar contest - watch them cancel it now.

Seeing Omark (or any Oiler) do this in the NHL would be incredible.

Omark also drew several penelties and played well defensively.

It would've been funny if they had the Safeway Score and Win promo in the 80s.

Gretzky, Kurri, Messier, etc. would've bankrupt Safeway

Wow, so he's well over a PPG now with around 17 pts in 13/14 games if my memory is correct. Good to see him not sulking about his demotion after a slow start in the AHL. Hopefully he keeps it up and is a quick call up as a result.

Really? For as long as the AHL has been around 5g in one game is the all-time record? That's sort of surprising to me.

Me too. I would have thought some young gun or aging vet would have topped that at some point, considering so many of the stars of the NHL have still at some point played there.

As long as its not due to injury, I completely agree. I like what I see from the Oilers lately. Unlike last year, they are competing. Also, they seem to be improving every game. It would be nice to watch games (like tonight) where they get down early, and its not SNAFU, but cue the comeback, or even better, wait for it, because its not over till its over. The young guys are leading the charge, and I think Omark is definitely showing that he can fit in.

Not sure about the timing, but it would be interesting to see what time Shawn Horcoff got injured and what time Omark started shooting the lights out.

It's almost like Horcoff went down, Omark got the message that there might be a call-up, and just turned it up a couple hundred notches.

Can't wait for highlights of this.

Since they waived Deslauriers, does anyone have an inkling who that roster spot will be used for? Belle/Petiot would be a sensible option, but I sure wouldn't be disappointed if they caled up Omark.
