Horcoff will be out for a while. Expect call up late tomorrow probably. No word exactly how long but looks like 8 weeks. MCL.

Why do sports teams hate the word "bruise"

How long do hockey players stay out with this sort of injury?

Depends on the full diagnosis. The degree or depth of the bruis. It would mostly be uncomfortable and would effect his stride. It sounds minor so I would suggest one week max. I can see him missing one game probably. For precautionary measures maybe more.

*Charley-horse. Sounds like it. A pretty deep one at that. Hard to walk on those let alone skate and hit with one.

If he misses 10+ games, I'll be shocked if we don't finish last.

And I was liking his play a lot more this year...

WOW, I must be watching a different Shawn Horcoff then some of you!

Dont get me wrong, I hope hes ok with no long lasting issues.

But I really wouldnt mind him missing 5-10 games so we can get the kids with a center that WILL go hard to corner and crash the creese.

Id love to see Penner, Hall, Hemsky as a top line

Shawn, hope your ok, but please dont rush back

And I certainly dont think this season even remotely lost if we with out Horcoff, in fact I think its just the opposite!

If they call someone up, who will it be?

Lots of people are going to want Omark after his 5 goal night, but realistically a centerman will be needed to fill in for horcoff.

I thought I heard Big Mac was out with a sore back. Something during practice... He could easily be put retroactively on the IR. Call up Omark's entire line.

They could move Brule to centre, then call up Omark.

Sounds about right to me.

You don't pass on a player that just scored 5 goals in a game when a roster spot opens up. Omark gets the call. Book it.

I don't think Horc will miss anytime it didn't look that serious, as fun as Omark is to watch, if Horc is going to miss some time O'Marra should be the one getting the call up.

I'd like to see this.

Hall Gagner Hemsky
Penner Brule Paajarvi
Omark Cogliano Eberle
Jones Fraser Storts

I think Paajarvi Eberle and Omark can all be alternated. Seems like Omark might be a better fit on the right side.

Something like that. I'd like to see Paajarvi play with the D-train again. Showed chemistry together in preseason. I'll admit though, putting Eberle on the third line almost seems like a travesty.

It sounds like the appropriate move. Hard to ignore the fact that Omark has earned the right to be called up.

What?

You think Horc is playing poorly, but you want Penner on the top line?

2 things.

Who would player center on the line of hall penner and hemsky?

Did Horcoff sleep with your girlfriend or something?

Penner-Brule-Omark played pretty well together. If Horc is out for a couple games i would be in favour of Brule moving to center.

Horc is leading this team in scoring. To see him go down is a major concern. Hopefully it's just a bruise and nothing to do with his knee.
