Give a chance to our 2 most talented young forward to play with Plekanec so they can step up in their career and let the 3 big salaries veterans handle their own problems together , they should be able to handle it if they are worth anything.
And we'll have Cammalleri - Gomez - Gionta together? I don't know if that'll work, but it's worth a try... Martin is trying everything else anyway.
The expectation is obviously that the true ''Smurf'' line would get tossed around too much. Would be horrible for all 3 if the move DIDN'T eventually pull them all out of the funk. If everyone else kept producing, though, and if the 3 amigos pulled a Band of Brothers and fought together back toward respectable top 6 contribution/impact in time for the playoffs, we could end up being a scary team to face (again).
I don't really like the idea of breaking up Plekanec and Cammy for an extended period, but whatever.
I'm not sure breaking up the PHd line is the way to go, but I can support a Cammy-Gomez-Gionta reunion. They actually played well together at various points last year. Remember how Pleks was our 2nd line at one time? Pleks can play with anyone and still put up points. He did fine last year with a plethora of wingers.
Stop already with the PHD line , everybody knows it is one of those 3rd/4th line having a hot streak that is 100% sure to end in the short term. We've seen it a million times.Time to take the best player out of that line and to put him on the 1st.Darche and Halpern are doing their job , but a) they are not the future and b) they don't have the talent to continue on their hot streak , but I give them total credit for what they have done , especially Halpern since the beginning of the season.
freaking sick of all this talk about line combinations, here and on the radio.
It's as if changing the combinations will create a new element in the periodic table.
That is not where the focus needs to be, it has to do with strategy and player utilization.
exactly what im saying , do it and keep it this way all season long.
A young talented forward like Pouliot on our team who could become something big for our future stuck on a line with pluggers is a discussion about player utilization.
Let the 3 amigos handle themselves out of their slump. They proved in the past they have some chemistry, and don't give me the smurf excuse. They can protect themselves, they're big boy and have tons of experience in the league. Pouliot or Eller on the second line is fine with me.
Thanks! Moen in Glory offered to make me one and I <3 it. Rocking the Price avatar but didn't want to forget my man Plek.
Okay fair enough I agree with people saying keep the lines the same all year, but if that's the case these would be my lines personally, barring injuries or players playing horrible for 30+ games nonstop. I'm a firm believer that it takes time to build chemistry and find that magic, but 30+ games on the same line and you aren't producing but others are.... that's just bad.
Like I better not see 10pts 40g from Gio and Gomez, I believe in these guys but if they do badly I will be eating some MAJOR HFboards crow admittedly.
I'd go with:
White in place of Pyatt preferably if he came up and played like he did in the preseason.
It makes me realize Boyd really has no place on this team aside from as an injury fill in. Sorry to say but I think that's why he's being waived, because of Eller.
Moen-Lapierre-White would be absolute destruction. You want to talk about getting tough, this line would be tough, annoying to play against, it would be everything this team needs.
The other lines would become stable and therefore would become good lines eventually and if not we would definitely need to do a UFA signing in the summer, may even still need to.
