Louis Leblanc Injured

http://en.lhjmq.qc.ca/article/leblan...y-super-series

Will sit out the Subway series due to injury in a game this past week, anybody the extent of the injury he suffered? Does he just not want to agrivate the injury in a un important game? or is it a more serious injury?

on a side not Maxim Kitsyn(montreal prospect) has scored in the Qmjhl vs Russian selects

and game sits at 2-1

If I recall correctly, didn't they announce he wouldn't be playing that Subway Series Game but then he went on to play the next regular season game. If so, then it would be precautionary

Kitsyn belongs to LA Kings. Our russian prospect is Maxim Trunev.

What are the 2 teams in the subway series? Did Laval get a team?

He played injured on the weekend, but decided to sit out the Subway Series. It must be something minor if he played throught it and still picked up 1G and 2A IIRC.

He's been great. 12-14-26 pts in 16 games. He totally made the transition to the Q.

Anything less than ~2 points per game would be a really bad sign for a soon-to-be 20-year-older.

It's more like 1.5 but yeah wasn't sure if by ~ you meant 1.8-2.2 or like even 1.5-1.6...

I think 1.5 is too low. Most guys who score that pace in Q at 20 years old, end up being career AHLers. He should have went to CHL last year, instead of missing a full year of development.

Yea - at only 1.5 in the Q he is a total bust. Timmins

BTW - maybe the injury claim is just to protect him from playing in the Subway game. The way I heard on TV, the Junior players (including Leblanc) would have to play 6 games in 67 nights with that series included ?

WTF? Leblanc's hockey decisions have been beyond perfect to this point. Going to Harvard last year gave him more time to go to the gym, and that lead him to be the most in shape player of all the guys that went to the summer camp for WJC 2011. Now he's playing in every game situations for Montreal and has dominated all 3 zones this season. He's 2 goals from the league leader with 5 games less played, and his 1.5 ppg average is top 5 in the whole league...

He's 19yo... he's not an overager... I agree that I want two points a game, but the Q isn't what it used to be... they score more goals in the OHL... and even in the WHL is starting to pass them...

He doesn't have the offensive support that other players have, he always has 2 or 3 guys on his back and yet, he's Top 5 in the league (in ppg) and helps his team wins... so far, so good...

This is not the Q of the 1980's or even 1990's, even guys like Couturier(possible #1 overall pick) put up 2 PPGM.

Don't you know that as a soon-to-be-20-year-old he should not only be the best player in the Q, but he should lead the league in every stat category by a large margin?

Numerous players at that age have dominated the Q, yet have never made the NHL. Thus, anybody below the #1 scorer surely won't even crack the AHL. Of course, such a situation only happens in the Q, the best players in the OHL and the WHL are always guaranteed NHL superstars, probably due to their high levels of truculence.

I know people have (thankfully) already jumped down that guys throat enough, but I'd like to add that as far as I can tell Leblanc has the second highest PPG average in the entire league, and if anyone has the audacity to say that is not good enough, then my god they are deluded. He has performed well above my expectations.

I ran into Leblanc at the Habs v. Panthers game at the Bell Centre on Oct. 30th. I was pretty drunk but I asked him how it was going in the Q and he said "really good". And then I told I hope to see him with the Habs next yr and he said "me too". Nice chap! But I did notice that he looked to be around the same size as me and I'm not big (160 lbs). The kid still needs to bulk up a bit or he'll be destroyed.

That being said, I think it's pretty cool that he goes to see Habs games (I asssume he gets free tickets). It proves he's a real Habs fan too.

The reason I asked is because he is doing around 1.5 not really 2.

Well he's a west islander. We like the habs a ton too. Only place really that I consistently see flags all year round and not just when we're winning.

2 PPG is A LOT in the Q these days.

Even guys like Luke Adam and Jordan Caron who are in the NHL right now didn't do that much as 19 yo.

Adam: 90 pts in 56 games (1.61 ppg)

Caron: 53 pts in 43 games (1.23 ppg)

Leblanc is on a pace for 91 pts in 56 games (1.62 ppg) which is really good.

Lets put it this way: Since midget (and probably since earlier than that), Leblanc has always been the best player of his team. In the USHL, in the ECAC, and now in the Q.
