Bajen Hockey

Hej mina vänner

I was just wondering... two of the big Stockholm clubs AIK and DIF play in the Elitserien but what is going on with Hammarby IF? My good friend mr. Wikipedia tells me that they still have a hockey team despite all the difficulties. And thanks to their fans. Do you guys think that Bajen will play in Elitserien in the future?

No, comrade, Bajen will not be playing in Elitserien in the foreseeable future.

Barely. Maybe if they get some funding, but they have more than enough problems with their football now. Don't expect any success from there.

Bajen Fans Hockey is still run independently, though... isn't it?
Hammarby Fotboll's situation shouldn't affect Bajen Fans Hockey in any way.

Unless you're suggesting that Bajen Fans Hockey will suffer indirectly, since sponsors might choose to support Hammarby Fotboll over a Division II hockey team.

Bajen Fans is starting to look like a "real" club, though, with its own J18 and J20 teams.
So I wouldn't say Hockeyallsvenskan is completely out of reach (within five years, perhaps).

There should be room for one more serious hockeyclub from Stockholm. Right now theres no club from Stockholm in SEL-2, if you don't count Södertälje.

Huddinge seems to be knocking on the door.
Given the damn needle's eye you have to get through to get out of the swamp and into the HA, I don't know how we could even speculate that Bajen Fans will be in the SEL-2 in the next five or ten years.
I think you will see Huddinge there before Bajen Fans.

There's a reason that the real Hammarby Hockey went bancrupt. They were very poorly supported. Sad empty arena match after match. Their fans let the club die.

The "fan" team will probably get to Division 1, but that will be the end of the road unless a total culture change appears among their fans.
