wow, poor Leclaire... Comes back from injury and is thrown under the fire against a top-5 team in the NHL

And the Canucks just had an off-game and got shutout. They will be hungry

But as Fuhr said, it's an easy win again

This might end up being the easiest game we win in franchise history. 1-0 Sens in a rout.

The key for the Sens to win is to play OUR game and not spend the entire time worrying about chasing the puck and playing Vancouver's game. It's in our home so set the tempo right from the start.

GO SENS GO!

Starting Leclaire against Vancouver is perhaps a smart move because

1) It's a non-conference team, so it relieves a bit a pressure

2) It's a very good team and so it lets Leclaire know that the coach still has faith in his abilities and not just going to let him play against scrubs when Elliot needs a night off.

Dead serious.

I'm glad we got out of the "must-win" zone thanks to our winning streak. Now we can afford to lose the occasional game without panicking. Not tomorrow though!

All streaks have to come to an end sometime. I'm feeling like the boys are going to crap the bed on this one. Hope not though.

This.

We were getting a bit fancy by the end of last game.

That won't work on the Canucks.

When they threw him in the playoffs against Pittsburgh that was being thrown into the fire

This is nothing, he should be fine.

Hopefully he's fully recovered and ready to go.

I'm not a big fan but I think he's looked better ever since Wamsley started working with him again. He's looked more solid and doesn't flop around as much.

Ironically, this has actually become the game day thread.

I hope that Leclaire plays well but I'm a little scared about him vs Sedins. Prove me wrong Pascal

PolakDave lives on the west coast - I'm sure he's still in bed.

Keep Eliot going, he's been looking really solid in net. I hope Fisher does some damage tonight.

Leclaire has played really well this season. Let's ease up on the chicken little routine until he gives us a reason.

I have beers on this game. Pay 8 if Vancouver wins, collect 12 if Ottawa wins.

Apparently this was an easy call for Clouston. Elliott is fighting a "tweak" , something nagging , that they want him to rest tonight.

Either way, it should be a good one. I was at last year's game which I think we won? I remember that Karlsson was flying and got hurt that game. I think it was 3-1? And I recall a wicked fight too, Carkenr and either Hordichuck or Rypien. Actually, my memory looks pretty bad right now!

It was during on our win streak. But don't get too excited, Raycroft was the starter.

I don't think you have been watching the games. We have the puck pretty much three quarters of the game. As Bryan Murray predicted, we are seeing the results now, not when Leclaire was playing at the beginning. Our defensive system right now is about puck possession and puck movement and it leaves the goalie a lot less work to do and a lot less bonafide scoring chances as well.

There will always be other varaiables at play, a western conference team, you will not be as familiar as playing Montreal obviously, but as the way the team is playing right now...the Senators are tought to beat if they stick to their brilliant defensive play coupled with the re-emergernce of one Alexei Kovalev.
