Swapping goalies makes no sense and getting either player (Staal/Malkin) without losing Kane would be an absolute steal for the Thrashers.

2 things wrong with this trade:

Waddell is usually the one who trades quality for quantity.

Shero would never make a deal like this. you know, the kind that makes his team worse. Nore would he ever be ripped off by Waddell.

Bergfors will be a better player than Jordan Staal.

His shot is an absolute laser, stands a great chance to be a perennial 30 goal scorer if paired with a decent center.

Definitely wouldn't bite on that deal, especially considering MAF's contract and perennial mediocrity, this season even doing it despite being behind one of the better defenses in the league.

Atlanta isnt going to beat anyone with that style of play. They would have To add around Malkin to keep him happy and they dont have the money to pay Malkin and the needed accessories, did anyone not watch the Kovalchuk Thrashers the last few years? Atlanta needs to build some credibility and a fan base before they start bringing in superstar caliber players, and they have to keep the budget down while doing it.
