****, yeah, thanks... The one I usually look at has the total on the left; went to Flyers site and they put it on right... Dammit.

Oh well, at least Kimmo was kept down to 16:23 TOI... and under 21:00 is light for Prongs.

Us playing Carolina reminds me of how we always beat the Islanders. We just always seem to come out against them.

Or, for an opposite comparison, when we play Carolina it seems like the opposite of when we play Florida.

After the Islanders lost in the shootout, their announcer said "The Islanders losing streak ends at eight...according to NHL accounting." Only in the NHL.

Except it didn't end because they lost. Their pointless streak ended, but that's a completely different matter from a losing streak.

Might as well call OTLs 'ties'.

What he meant was the memo that members of the media supposedly received post-lockout in that if a team which loses a game in the shooutout, that should be considered equal to a tie (when those existed).

An exaggerated example: if Team X loses 36 straight games in a shootout, they would have snapped the Flyers NHL-record unbeaten streak of 35 straight games.

That is what the announcer meant tonight, the Islanders losing streak is over per NHL rule.

He has to announce for the Islanders. Can we blame him for taking whatever he can get (even if he has to make a reach for it)?

In all fairness, it games just ended in ties instead of shootouts then any team going to a shootout wouldn't have been given a loss when ties were around.

Still, that's pretty idiotic. I remember all of this confusing the hell out of me in regards to the "streak" column in the NHL standings last year.

Great game. Even Shelley looked pretty good.

Our D seems to really be gelling. Even when the Canes were pressing while the game was still somewhat within reach, they couldn't really penetrate to many dangerous spots.

The Briere-Hartnell-Leino line is downright fun to watch.

And lastly,

Bob.

It's all about Jules.

And the Simpons fan in me just wants to add that I love the fact The Canes have two guys on their team named Skinner and McBain.

They should acquire Lovejoy from the Pens and Burns from Minnesota.

I'm amazed that Mes was somehow +4 despite OD really scuffling.

OD looked alittle bundy-ish out there. But he's been very solid most of the year. He was a good signing for homer. Then he went D crazy later on.

We have Homer as GM and Bart as a d-man.

Has anyone come across footage of his celebration? I changed the channel at that point and missed the goal. I've seen the replay of the goal itself but I heard his "little dance" was hilarious.

Thanks in advance.
