Gangs can control certain neighborhoods but no way can they run a whole city

never said they could. Said they were giving the mafia a ton of trouble in this neighborhood. Somebody said they couldn't 'challenge' them. They have and they will. They'll never take over, that much is obvious.

Just making **** happen. Don't see it as challenging them for control

R.I.P.. Regardless of his line of business, it's sad to see a man get killed, let alone die for any other reason. I believe this thread should be closed down, due to the fact that it's disrespecting a slain man.

For those of you who don't know, the Rizzutos and the Montreal Mafia go by "controlled violence", just like any other major city mafia. They don't go after someone unless there's a good enough reason. The people you hear in the news being gunned down by the Mafia, is basically due to them owing a large sum of money, double-crossing or murder of one of their men. They don't just walk down the streets day and night, looking for their next innocent victim. That is what you call any little gang in Montreal-Nord.

This completely explains all the local coffee places in Saint-Leonard being targeted by people throwing mulatov cocktails.

Yep, i know. A bit all too well, in fact. But if you'd like to continue that conversation, it would be best in PM's.

My money is on New York since no hits are going back the other way (The Montreal mafia just can't start a war with the NY mob). If it was Montreal street gangs doing the hits you can bet your ass hits would be called there way

Rizzuto's and NY Mafia were close not ennemies

and street gangs not having the money for hits ? Syndicates and Beaux-Gars Are pretty big in this city

Not sure if you're confusing those with the Italian cafés in Saint-Léonard, or if this is a whole new story altogether. I haven't heard about any pizzerias being targeted.

I'm shocked there's people defending mafia murder. I didn't realize glorification through media was so bad.

man my favorite local pizzeria was one of them too (granada). Firebombings on fleury here were common a few years ago.

These hits are coming from the outside because nobody is getting killed on the other side. This is just a changing of power no big deal it happened in the 70's and it's happening now..

And i'm not saying street gangs are broke im saying they just can't start a war with the mafia

nope, completely different story. bunch of people living above the restaurants were left homeless too.

funny story tho (morbid, i guess). My mom came home the other day and she's like ' oh so they burned down a bunch of restaurant in the area xxxxx, but granada wasn't one of them, i'm so relieved'

2 days later our pizzeria gets burnt too

my mom was sad.

not that the others getting burned down wasn't bad, but you know. You get de-sensitized to stuff like this over time...

I would say good but it won't change anything. If a mass killing of gang members/mafia people were to happen then we could be satisfied and hope that maybe crime will be reduced a bit but even then it would take a very major event for such a thing to happen. Can always hope though, nice to see a big one go down.

And to all the people about to jump on me, no I don't have any sympathy or empathy for criminals.

Would you rather our city be controlled by the mafia or street gangs?

Yah bro 3 pizzerias got targeted. Owners were italian. 1 was only lightly burned and the other 2 we're pretty scorched.

That's all I know.

If I could choose I'd rather they all be eliminated. Bring in the military and be done with it. Of course, that would be an idiotic decision leading to many pointless deaths and damage to the city so in the real world there's nothing to do. Crime wins, just hope they suffer in the process.

They literally run the city. They're involved in things people wouldn't even believe. They aren't going anywhere. That's 3 dead now though, Nicolo, Nick, and the other one who was with his bodyguard. Like the other poster said, change in power.

neither.

Peaceful city is requested. No more criminals.

someday, non-violence will reign over.

Keep dreaming. As long as paying for sex and drugs is illegal, there will be criminals.

Legalize them, tax them, ???, Profit.

Cute generalization.
