Teemu Selanne... How many points does he end up with?

What do you guys think? I'd make a poll, but I can't yet. I know it seems pretty far fetched to think he (a 40 year old) could be a point per game player, but I haven't seen any thing to make me believe otherwise. I know a lot of you have also mentioned he almost looks like he's in his 2006 form.

I'm going to go ahead and say he'll end up with 65-80 points. Call me crazy, and I may be, but we'll find out at the end of the year I guess...

He's currently 4th in points in the league (7pp points, 11 es points), leads the team in points and goals. It's hard to believe a 40 year old would keep up that pace, but I'm going to say 85pts 40g just because Selanne is so awesome

Barring any injuries, of course, I'll go with 38G 40A 78PTS

Then he'll agree to one more year so he can pass Jagr

If he stays healthy he will be a point per game player. It has been a few years since I've seen Teemu at this level of play and it is just exciting to watch. He is flying and putting points on the board like he did in our cup year. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

my conservative answer is 35-28 = 63 points if he plays in all games (crossing fingers!).. seems teemu scores in bunches so i'm not sure how long this streak will last.. though i wouldn't mind it lasting all season

Assists seem a bit of since he has 11 assists in the first 17 games it would mean that he gets only 17 assists in the last 65 games. fwiw he's on pace for 53 assists.

He hasn't looked this good since the McDonald days imo. With this start I certainly think he can reach 75 points if he stays healthy.

Since we're actually prediciting specific stats...

I'll go with 32-40=72.

And for his twin Koivu...

24-36=60.

I'll say about 65 points, if he doesn't get injured of course.

true (althought it's been only what, 17 games? ).. i was more referring to years passed.. if he maintains his pace i'd be stoked.. besides, as stated it was just my conservative number.. my sort of "lowest point total" i think he can get this season. i'm hoping he well passes the 63 point mark i projected.

He looks better than he has since the Stanley cup year, it's hard to believe. Provided he's healthy he will hit at least 65. I'll go with 35 goals and 40 assists.

I'm with Paul. This is a Teemu that we haven't seen since the 06-07 season. Selanne has always been able to put up points and considering his age the points totals he has the last two years despite injury and retirement considerations have been pretty solid.

This year it seems like he is flying. I think he realizes that chances are this is it so he is leaving it all out on the ice. It would be optimistic to think he won't go down with any injuries and that this pace is sustainable through the entire season but I get the feeling this is Selanne being Selanne. This isn't Selanne on fire.

I think the numbers can fall between 65 points and 85 points. With Koivu starting to heat up I expect Selanne will produce even more. Next step is Blake to find his rhythm with that line and we might start seeing more consistent flashes of the brilliance we witnessed at the end of last season from those three.

I'm going to wait and see what happens in December... Last couploe of seasons Selanne has decided to take December off for the holidays. And what I mean by taking time off for the holidays I mean he has some sort of freak injury.

Please Selanne just stay in a bubble next month!!!

If he gets over 25 goals or 60 points...

30 goals, 40 assists. 100 points.

I think he's capable of matching Belak.

I'd say 30+35 if he plays in every game, which he's not going to do. I guess he gets injured in the mid-season.

Thinking the fact Koivu looks better than last year in the ducks, Selanne himself looks better than last year.. If healthy he will score atleast 70 points, max ~90. If he plays like he plays now, like being himself, he'll be around 75 but if he gets into fire in like 3-6 games in the season, scores hat trick there and 2+2 over here, he'll go over 80.
