Loved Datsyuk's shift against Penner.

And with 2 points tonight, Zetterberg is quietly leading the team in points.

Lidstrom makes it look so easy.

Hudler is looking better. Soon enough to avoid a benching?

Lidstrom recovered by snuffing out their last chance though.

Ha. Who wasn't holding their breath when Budd Lynch made the announcement?

All the lines looked good, although Abdelkader I feel is wasted a bit on that 4th line. He played well, again, but given how strong he's performed so far this season he should be at least on the 3rd line.

Hudler and Filppula have serious chemistry, for the benefit of Hudler AND the overall strength of the team, you have to leave them together. I think we've found our lines for a while. Filppula played an exceptionally strong game, he was flying out there. Some of his work defensively was great too, he's becoming Datsyuk like in his takeaway ability.

Point streaks continue for Datsyuk and Lids, and Hank moves to first in points with 17. Another strong showing by Ericsson, and Danny Cleary is ridiculously hot right now and is playing with great energy with every shift, as per usual.

Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Holmstrom
Franzen - Filppula - Hudler
Bertuzzi - Modano - Cleary
Abdelkader - Helm - Miller/Eaves

Quality looking lines.

I was on board with the Modano signing back in the Summer but so far it just looks like a waste of a roster spot and cap space. We don't really needed him and his presence is making 1 of Eaves, Miller, Hudler to rot on bench each game. W/ Drapes out Ritola would be 13th F.

Can't wait to see what happens when Draper gets back

Hopefully Mikey Mo will pick up his game and score and least 15 and 40.

He'll be promoted step by step. He's like Cleary, he can contribute on any line. I see him playing on the 3rd line next year

Draper's return has the potential to be a problem

People can say what they want. It's one thing to have Stacey Roest or Brad May in the press box.
It's quite another to have Patrick Eaves and Jiri Hudler up there. That kind of thing can cause team issues quick.

I hope Draper doesn't just assume he has a spot in the lineup.

He needs to earn it, and right now he has a lot to do to earn that spot.

Yeah I think the way Babs has handled Maltby, Chelios and now Ozzie have shown that just because you're a vet it doesn't guarantee you a spot in the lineup.

Atm, Draper brings absolutely nothing to the team that makes him a lock for the starting lineup. He can PK? Great, we have about 4 pairs of forwards that can do that. He doesn't take faceoffs anymore, he's slow and not as effective as before either. I guess his contract just ran 1 year too long IMO. He and Maltby should have retired this year.

Putting Draper in would probably hurt the team more than anything.
