Boucher:
Quote:
"The reality is, you're getting all these road games, one after the other, while some other teams are home, and you compare yourself with the points," he said. "But the comparison is hard to make now, and it's going to be even harder in the next month.

"Right now for us is trying to get out of this jungle alive for the next month."
Quote:
"We're going into their barn. They're on fire," coach Guy Boucher said. "They're basically winning against everybody. I think they've got their game going, and they're the favorites."
Ellis:
Quote:
"They're the team to beat in the East," Ellis said. "Between them, and Philly and Pittsburgh, those three teams have been the marquee teams in the East the last three years. To match up against those teams is going to be big. We're going to have to bring our 'A' game."

LETS GO BOLTS!

Downie not playing this road trip vs Caps and Pens.

A forward will be called up from Norfolk, but just as back up as Boucher intends to play 7 Defensemen

*Other notes from practice: It appears Boucher is leaning towards starting Dan Ellis in goal Thursday night, as he's coming off an impressive shutout Tuesday night against the Leafs.....Boucher said he didn't have any results yet from LW Simon Gagne's nerve conduction test that he underwent Tuesday afternoon.

Harsh putting up Carlson's biggest rookie mistake to date. If he takes the middle of the ice after green knocks his man off the puck the game goes on. It could be more on Green though for taking such a big risk and jumping on Carlson's side. Either way Carlson stops skating.

Anyway, Stamkos is on a tear and this will be a good one. Taking off work at 2:30 just to head downtown for this one. Can't wait!

A defining game.

A game that shows we can win on the road.
A game that shows we can beat the Capitals.
A game that opens a tough two game road set.

Seems the Caps/Lightning series results in a lot of goals.
Look for Stamkos to have 4 points. 2G 2A

Move up Malone with Marty and Stamkos, that would be the best solution while Downie is not playing.

Boucher was pretty impressed with Hall on their line and said Moore and Malone have good chemistry.

Life without the Downie against the Capitals will make this game just a little less entertaining.

Big game. You know Washington will be in the race for the Southeast (if they don't just win it outright) and every game that we prevent the Caps from getting points is good. These head-to-head matchups could prove to be extremely important near the end of the year (dependent on the position of the teams). Even though it is only November they need to play like this could make or break their playoff chances.

I have to agree with you, but anyway this is a hell of game for us. I really can't wait for the game and was marked in my calendar to see the bad blood between this division rivals and after the last game 7-4 everything should change during this two clubs.
Would be great beat the Crapitals tonight not only for the two points, we play back to back games and tonight the boys are fresh to get a good start.
I always be worried about DJ King and Erskine and tomorrow with some tough guys in the Pens roster, hope can beat those two ****ing teams!
I read that maybe the coach will make a call up for this short trip, he will use 7 defenseman tonight but a forward could be called from the Admirals, I wonder who?

This upcoming road trip will for sure be a great test for our new team. Don't be surprised if we take them both down in regulation. We will be ready for this road trip!

We really need to look out for the transition game tonight though or we'll be run over.

Can't wait till tonight - there's just something about Ovechkin that rubs me the wrong way so I'll be more than happy to see us beating the living daylights out of them.

Go BOLTS

He has a back injury and some neck pain. They are keeping him out for this road trip as a precaution, and hopefully he'll be ready to go Sunday against the Wild.

Huge game IMO. This sets the tone for the rest of the month. We win tonight I think we go something along the lines of 7-2-2 the rest of the month. Lose tonight, well who knows.

I think we have the team to be able to skate with these guys and I think we definitely have the firepower to stay with them. Should be a good up and down game, just hope we come out on top. I REALLY REALLY dont want to hear that annoying ass goal siren more than once if at all tonight. Be strong Ellis!

All In.

First time to see the Cheapshot Artist Formally Known as Ovechkin this year.

I tend to avoid Vs. and their schedule that tries to shove Crosby/Ovechkin/Red Wings crap down our throats.

As a Caps fan I am extremely excited of the potential that could become an intense Capitals-Lightning rivalry. I really hope Stamkos supplants Crosby's place as the 2nd best player in the league ( ) so the two best players can be coming from our so called little South"least".

Here's to hoping 2+ (I see Washington, Tampa, and hopefully Atlanta) teams can join the playoff party and represent our division.

I got a peek at Boucher's pre-game notes for tonight back when we were wrapping up the Toronto win.

Washington

Points to stress:
1) First on the puck
2) Intense
3) Intense! (eyes)
4) Intense!!
