Ottawa,Edmonton,Los Angeles Proposal

got the idea from the Washington,LA, Ottawa proposal what do you guys think?

To Ottawa:

Ryan Smyth

To Los Angeles:

Radek Bonk
Patrick Lalime

To Edmonton:

Jason Allison
Josh Langfeld
Ott's 1st Round Draft Pick

It'd only work if Allison took a huge pay cut, which he'll prob have no choice to do.

So the Oilers lose their franchise player for a very injury prone potential UFA and a low 1st rounder in a weak draft?

Allison is a RFA, if the Kings don't qualify him he will be a UFA. If that is the case then either A. The Oilers wouldn't trade for him or B. They wouldn't have to.

Wow, still trying to dump Langfled on us hey? We don't need 3rd/4th liners, we have plenty of those
And Allison is a HUGE risk. Who knows how he will play if he comes back

Plus we sure can't afford to qualify him and so he will be UFA anyways.

This does nothing for the Oilers, pass.

Havlat would need to be included in any deal for Smyth. Also I don't see Smyth moving anywhere this summer. Not on his current contract. He wants to stay in Edmonton

first things last

ALLISON'S CAREER MIGHT BE DONE AS MIGHT DEADMARSH!!

Allison also failed his last medical for PTC---no sane team would trade for him or offer him a Q offer right now

take a look at the LA goalie situation--they would rather have who the have

That would be an awesome deal!! Realistically, however, it would never happen.

they could keep both. and then they could get potvin back, and just roll dice before the game to guess who gives them the best chance of not getting scored on from the blueline...

So this deal breaks down as:
OTT trades radek bonk, patrick lalime, josh langfeld, and ott 1st to EDM for ryan smyth, then EDM trades bonk and lalime to LA for allison? Why even include LA in the first place? I think EDM would rather keep bonk and lalime over allison, but i can't see EDM wanting any of these players in the first place. the problem with this deal is it doesn't address any needs except for OTT.

I don't see why Ottawa would trade Bonkers, Lalime, a 1st, and a decent grinder or whatever just for Smyth. I would think they could get more. Besides, they have enough scoring wingers.

The only team that deal makes sense for is Ottawa

Even then, that's still a lot to give up.

Ottawa gets exactly what they need, and only has to give up disappointing players they don't even want in return.

Edmonton gets screwed bad. Like, "we'll take Manhattan, and you can have these shiny beads" bad.

Assuming there is a season next year...

Holy crap!!!

The Kings would only give up Allison, whom will not be qualified anyway and (unless taking a severe incentive ladden pay-cut) is long since gone, to get Bonk and Lalime. The bonus is they can get rid of Cechmanek (by whatver means necessary) and save about $1m/year in salary from the swap of the goaltenders. Where do we sign up?!?! Kind of like Ottawa giving up players they can afford to loss, Kings giving up a player that probably won't even be back and get two pieces to fill in for offseason losses. There is so little risk involed here from the Kings standpoint.
