A Xmas wish: Does anyone remember when this play was?

My father passed away a few years ago but this Christmas I find myself thinking of him and the one hockey moment he laughed the most was...

A skater shot the puck and it hit a bar and bounced back, then he shot again and the puck bounced off of another bar or the crossbar, then he took a third shot and it too went off of a bar and then the (disgusted-seeming) player went to the bench.

I think it was in the nineties or soon thereafter (my memory is spotty on this), certainly it was before 2003 when I moved away.

Make my (Christmas) day. Does anyone recall the play? (It was a highlight on the early and late news, both of which I'd watched with my dad that night.)

I don't. But sorry to hear about your father. It is rough. Holidays just punctuate that.

What teams were playing? And was it an NHL game?

For some reason, Sean Bergenheim came to mind.

Did it happen in one sequence, as in two fast rebounds, or in the same shift?

The best I can think of is that the Sedin twins each hit the post on a rush (the other shot coming off a rebound).

Patrick Sharp hit all three posts once but it was magically in one shot.

I feel like this might have happened to Lecavalier before. But I might be conflating it with a memory of him hitting both posts and the crossbar on the same shot.
