perry pearn appreciation

I heard martin say that perry pearn is responsible for the pk,
doing an incredible job
given many people think martin is a bad coach,
how responsible is pearn in our success
would like to hear about his role with the team
thanks

Perry Pearn is the reason the Rangers PK was as good as it was in 08-09.

But he was also part of the reason we had the 29th ranked powerplay, and I notice you're team is struggling in that area.

So, good to see him doing well with Montreal. I didn't like when he was let go in New York.

Your best penalty killer is your goalie, so thank him rather than Perry.

sooooo, thank you to Hal Gill?

We arent in a great position to say which coach deserves the most credit. Maybe its all of them... but I like what I see

BTW, I thought muller was responsible for the PK, and now he's helping Pearn on the PP?

I do know that Pearn also runs the defense.

There's a reason we're one of the worst penalty killing teams this season.

coaching is part of it, but your cast of PKers is more important. Gorges and Gill do a great job down low of getting in passing lanes and blocking shots. Plekanec does an amazing job up high with his anticipation and ability to read the play. The D has to be very weary of his speed too. Those aren't the only guys that do a great job though, there's alot of depth in the pk dept so they can play an up tempo style, and use very short shifts.

Its a very aggressive PK that the habs use, and has worked well this year and also last year.

I still think Muller is the guy that oversees it though

Based on what the colour guys say particularly mcguire

As far as I undertand, Muller is in charge of the PK while Pearn is on the PP

I'm 85% sure it's the exact opposite, but I might be wrong.

Last game I seem to remember Mcguire saying Pearn had been looking after both, but because the PP was struggling so bad Muller was given control of the PP after the Ottawa fiasco on the weekend.

I wonder when people will stop pinpointing the success of a team on a single coach or player.

There's a reason why it's called a team after all..

Pearn isn't in charge of the PP, Kirk Muller is.

I'd like Muller to be the head coach, I think it would be a drastic change of scenery for the players.
