When a D-man/goalie break/lose their stick Broken Sticks
I am of the camp (if there is one) that a forward should give his stick to a dman without a stick if in the defensive zone.
also, if a goalie loses his stick, should dman/forward give his stick to the goalie, should he go pick up the goalie stick and give it back (even though this would create an odd man situation for a few seconds), or should he just let the goalie play without a stick until the puck is out of the zone? Again I a of the camp that someone should give the goalie a player stick and grab the goalie stick whenever they can.
whats everyones opinion? specifically goalie and dman opinions please?
The forward should hand his stick to the d, then hustle to the bench and get another one if it's the 1st or 3rd period. The brief amount of 4 on 5 is worth risking an extended period of possession where one of your players does not have his stick.
Maybe even in the 2nd too, so long as everyone else on the ice understands they;re missing a guy for 5 seconds.
