A freshly stitched jersey's patches should be completely flat. The naturally get only slightly rumpled with wear from leaning your back against a chair and what-not. Sounds like your stitching is off and ironing them might end up creasing the patches. You should take it back.

And on topic, nice work on the Couture jersey, Nem. I'm still deciding who I want to put on a 20th anniversary patched jersey. I'm leaning towards Couture but I'm in the "waiting to make sure his number is permanent" camp.

Mine looks more like this:

We are talking Ebay here. Who knows where they got theirs stitched. I agree with gnarkus.

most of my jerseys have some very slight rippling to the #s. But it's not a big deal for me since you pretty much can't tell it's there most of the time unless you look closely, and it'll end up doing that through natural wear anyway.

The replicas are stitched too. At least they were when I went like...2 years ago.

Doesn't look right to me. Here is mine. The waves on mine are simply where it's a little bent due to bending lol. But it looks much better in person than in the pic.

Also noticed your other picture of the inside. Mine is black and you can see much larger teal stitching. Yours was done very different to mine.

Hockey Xsport, Oakland. $72.

LZ, I'll make sure to go to your SJ location when I get my Couture one ... in two years... God, that number is terrible; 9 would be perfect, dammit.

FTR - Mine was $80+tax. A's & C's are free. I think the Sharks store charges like $100 if you buy Jersey there and have it lettered. They send it out to the same place.

$80 plus tax at the Sharks store too and you don't have to buy the jersey there. It's nice and convenient to pick up my jerseys on game days but last time I got stitching done (previous gen black jersey) they asked me how to spell "Thornton" so I'm thinking my next jersey will go straight to Ducummons.

Regarding pre-customized replicas, the Sharks Store stocks both stitched and heat pressed. The stitched ones are bought pre-stitched from a third-party and I'm guessing the heat pressed ones are leftovers from when the players make store appearances.

Interesting. I was just going on word of mouth on the Sharks store numbers. The person must of been rounding up. All I know for sure about the replicas is the patches suck and that's enough for me to stay away from them. Definitely gonna look closer next time I'm at the Sharks store just to check it out.

you can get proper patches on the replicas for less than the cost of an upgrade to an authentic jersey. That's what I did. the only trick is finding a couple of patches on ebay. But they shouldn't run you more than $10-15 for the patches, then maybe $20-25 for the sewing. That's still only a $30-40 cost compared to about $100 on the difference between replica and authentic jersey.

So they take out the crappy patching and sew the authentic one instead?

The Sharks' anniversary patch, by the way, can be found for $10-15 on ebay but with the sewing cost, I am not sure it's worth $40.

I'm not sure if he took them off or went right over top. either way you can't see any remnants of the original plasticy patches.

and I never thought to get a 20th patch. I just may ahve to do that now too, lol.

EDIT: found a 20th patch on ebay, but it seems kinda crappy quality. like a knockoff

The patch costs 15 at the Sharks store I believe and I think they charged me 15 to have stitched on my JT White Jersey. Should be ready this week.

Here is the legit one for 15 - http://www.sportsk.com/sharks-anniversary-patch.html

The Ebay one does look fake compared to this one.

FYI - Worcester has a few made up jerseys of Couture, and Stalock in both their Worcester jerseys and their AHL All Star jerseys. I think they might take offers on them now..

Problem solved. All they to do was iron/heatpress it. Could've done it at home. Thanks for making me waste my time with this, LZ.

BTW, I looked at the receipt - it costs $66 (72 was with taxes). And apparently done at Stahls Sport Stitch.

And here I was about to suggest you sell it behind your wife's back on ebay and just order a new jersey with that money ... but only a ***hole would do that.

I have typically sent my jerseys to hockey x sport but recently I have started using Exclusive Pro Sports in Michigan. They do work for pro teams and they are cheaper than hockey x sport.

I sent them my USA olympic jersey to get pavelski on it and they did a really great job. Since I was so pleased I sent them the authentic home jersey I got recently along with the 20th anny patch and they are doing it for $65. no tax but you have to pay to ship it to them.
