Markov or Kaberle, who would you prefer?

Given the video where Pleks admits that Kaberle tried to convince him to come to Toronto, I wonder if the reverse is possible. Kaberle's heart maybe in Toronto, but he has been the at the centre of trade rumours for 2 years, and that has to wear on you.

So who would you refer, Markov or Kaberle, both UFA's at the end of the year?

I don't know about who I prefer but based on the years of what I've seen Kaberle do on the PP I would love to sign him here. I get the sense that's not rediculously out of the realm of possibilities either. If we could have both he and Markov that would be an incredible pairing on the PP. Not to mention we also have Subban.

Those 3 on the same team would be a beautiful thing to witness.

I think you mean toronto. And I can see kaberle here at sometime this year. I would love to see

Markov Gorges
Kaberle Subban
Hamrlik Spacek

I doubt we could afford it, but it's a pipe dream. Especially with gill rumours, I like Gill and I would like him back, but he wouldn't be a 1st priority to me.

It's sad that Spacek is the one with an extra year and not Hamrlik.

Markov Gorges
Kaberle Subban
Gill Hamrlik
Weber

Both, but it depends on what they are asking for. If Markov takes a hometown discount or rehab contract and we don't have to enter a bidding war for Kabrle, there is definitely a chance we can get both.

I see something like this:

Markov-Gorges
Kaberle-Subban
Gill-Spacek (limited ice time-replace Spacek with Georges on PK)
Picard

Solid.

I can't vote cause Markov is scaring me with his injuries to his knee. Call it what you want but those hits where not bone crunshing hits and this is the result.
Him and Kaberle compare fairly equal in the stats department. Love to have them both.

If Markov is healthy I'd take him in a heartbeat. He's a bit better offensively(PP and transition) and a lot better defensively. In an aideal world our top 5 would have Markov Subban Gorges Hamrlik(reduced cost) and Kaberle...however I think Burke will move him before he becaomes a UFA and he may end up getting an extension before July 1st.

Kaberle isn't playing well in Toronto, Markov is always at the top and is definitly better defensivly.

Markov is a better all around defenceman IMO but if he isn't coming back and for some reason Kaberle would waive to come here and we could get a good deal in place to acquire him, I have no problem with bringing him over, would be a great addition

Who would be playing well with that train wreck of a team. Kaberle needs a change of scenery bad and he would be perfect in Montreal. He's use to all the media attention in Toronto and it would be some compensation for Komi leaving us.

I would try for both Kabs and Markov using Hammer's money but Markov better be at a huge discount.

Markov is the better player but Kaberle doesn't have the major injuries. You can choose health or skill and the safer bet is health right now, especially if it's going to be a long term contract.
