Plus/Minus Pens v Thrashers

+ Malkin. Hat trick, looked pretty well out there too. Solid effort and he was rewarded for that.

+ Sid, just the usual.

+ Fleury-another good game, keep it up!

+ Letestu, he's just a solid player. Good hockey sense, good defensively, good on the cycle.

- Letang-just stupid plays, passes, giveaways. He isn't elite yet.

Have at it!

The pens won this game with strong play in the neutral zone and Crosby and Malkin.

Disco Dan still needs to go, the defensive zone is a travesty and Malkin wasnt at center the entire last ten minutes of the game. Thats ****ing piss poor use right there. Its time for this clown to go.

I agree with your list.

Though, I will give a - to everyone except for Fleury in the First period.

And Letang was brutal tonight, but oh well, a bad game from him every once in awhile can be excused.

Also, OT + The goal Vanek just scored to beat the Caps

Keep Malkin at Center! So far it's worked out better for us!

Agreed all around. I'll add:

+Michalek: he brings something this team hasn't had since Gill. Expect he can pass well and skate like an NHL D-man.

Agreed completely. Michalek is back to form after his injury, and he is playing very well.

++++++ MALKIN!!
+ Fleury looking good.
+ Crosby, of course
+ Malkin finally getting a PP goal

I just liked the effort of this game. They played to win. Let's hope it keeps on going.

Also I agree with PensFan. Other + to Vanek for beating the Caps.

Letang wasn't that bad. He had a couple of bad turnovers in the third but outside of that I thought he had a pretty good game.

+ Malkin
+ Sid
+ Fleury

I won't give any minuses tonight. Two victories in two nights with Fleury playing great on both nights, I can't be negative

+ MAF: I give him enough grief when he's down, so I'll be the first to give him praise for the last two games. Keep it up, you pile...lol.

+ Geno: Mad Hatter! Played with passion that we haven't seen in a while.

+ Sid: He's going to win the scoring title this year. He's on a different planet this year.

+ Asham: Looks nice with Geno. Who saw that coming?

- Letang: That pass in front of MAF just about sums up his night. Not his best effort.

- Rupp: Didn't do anything really wrong, but someone tell me again why he's getting so much playing time?

- PP personnel: Are things really so bad that Cooke is on the PP? If so, then yikes...

I think Letang's play right now is a double-edged sword. He's playing with a lot of confidence and aggression and it's leading to a lot of production, but also causing him to commit some turnovers. All told, I want to see him keep playing the way he's playing. I'd rather see him continue to be "unleashed" even if it leads to some screw ups from time to time.

+Geno. Hopefully that'll get him going.
+Sid. Another three points, and nice play to set up Geno for the 'trick.
+Fleury. Kept the team in it during a brutal first by the boys, and played very good the rest of the way when they eventually got the lead. Two in a row for him. Hopefully his brutal play is behind him.
+Michalek. He looks like he's finally finding his game after returning from his shoulder injury. Dude's just so solid.

=Letang. I don't really want to give him a minus since he still ended up with an assist and a + rating, but he made some goofs tonight. So I'll give him an even.

-Everyone in the first period.
-PP still looks ridiculously bad.

I agree with this, but he can't give the puck away like he did in front of MAF tonight. It's not Ryan Miller back there to clean up his mess.

I love his overall game this year though.

Also, Crosby is now tied for the points lead (though Stamkos has a game in hand)

The most impressive thing is that he's doing it "alone".

I have no problem with malkin on wing some, but 18:18 toi is a joke. As I wrote in the gdt, when the shark finally smells blood in the water, don't cage him.

+ Geno - It makes me so happy to see him score, for whatever reason.
+ Fleury- He had some very underrated saves tonight.
+ Crosby- Great first period and glad he got on the scoreboard.
+ Goligoski- Beast. Looks like he's healthy and not reverting back to last year at this time.
+ Malkin swearing in English.

- Didn't see Vanek's goal yet.

Good solid road win. The team seems to have woken up from its slumber. As long as Crosby and Malkin continue to light the lamp, we'll be fine. I still don't think we'll win a lot of games without them, like last night. But as long as they play at their best, we'll win our share. Two very encouraging outings from Fleury, too. Props to him. Hopefully, he keeps it going. I'm skeptical, but at least there's hope.

Deryk Engelland with points in back to back games. You can't stop him, you can't even contain him.

Like I said in a thread previously, for this team to win we need Malkin to be Malkin and Fleury to be Fleury. They are both getting out of their funks and that is a very good thing because we are lost without them.

Also + to Conner. Good bye Comrie.
