He was okay. He and Zherdev don't work well together. At all. Richards tried to be the glue, but there's no doubt Richie's best work has come on the PP and PK, when he has different linemates.

O'Donnell was the worst out there, did not make great decisions with the puck. Then again, we've seen a lot worse, so I'll let it slide for now and hope he shakes it off.

Just got home from the game. I can't get over this team. I can't get over how completely dominating they are. And what's funny, is I thought they had some really sloppy play for a while there tonight!

I thought JVR looked good tonight. Some good chances and a post!

BTW -- anyone at the game -- do you know if the kid that got hit by the puck in section 117 is okay??

I thought Z looked a little disinterested tonight.

I saw the opposite. Z looked good, he back checked, made safe plays and looked to setup his linemates instead of his usual dangle and lose the puck.

Quoted for truth.

I turned the commentary off and watched the game silent (long story), it just jumped out to me how everything they do with the puck is hard and fast (almost to a man this was true). They're certainly a very energized, confident team right now.

JvR needs to be on a dif line. Nodl works much better with Z and Richards. Hopefully he gets back on that line when he's back

It's possible. I always have a different perspective when I'm at the game instead of on tv...

I can understand your point of view though, he definitely didn't look like the Zherdev we know ;p

As much as we all dislike Shelly I hesitate to say this but he actually had his best game of the year I thought. Of course most of his shifts were after the game was decided.

Oh and I hesitate to say this too but I think Wellwood was more deserving of a spot in small stint here than JVR (since about game 2 or 3. He was strong in the preseason and the first few) .I don't see where the benching really lit that much of a fire under him. I know there a lot of you on here that want to have his baby but I'm just calling it as I see it. I can't help but feel his draft position is earning him a roster spot right now. And thats coming from a guy who up until 3 weeks ago hated Wellwood.

MSE (or anyone) -- Is Bob the fastest Flyers rookie goalie to 10 wins? I don't know if that's been discussed anywhere.
Best starts by a rookie goalie:

Bob Froese of the Flyers began 12-0-1 before he lost a game (13 decisions before his first loss). Froese began 8-0-0, then had a tie, then had four more wins.

At the time, the NHL record was set by Bill Durnan of Montreal in the 1940s who started his career 11-0-3 (14 decisions before his first loss).

I am not sure if it has been surpassed since.

Shelley played well. He was in position to get a goal a few times tonight. Not expecting that, but he was decent on the forecheck and in the neutral zone. JVR is there because he has a lot of talent, but I agree that maybe there wasn't a fire lit under him, persay. He was playing cautiously, trying not to do too much and make mistakes, but he needs to take some risks to use his skills and gain confidence in himself. I don't know if it's just me, but his skating looks worse than last year. He looks like Hartnell out there sometimes this year as far as turning and accelerating.

^ Good man! That visual says it all.

Burgess Meredith was in two really good episodes, too.

Wasn't just you, the only time I really noticed Nedved was when he ran into Bob behind the net.

Heard they took the kid to the hospital, not sure of her condition.

Don't know if that was intentional, but

As far as the little girl, that was sad. I'm all the way up in 210 and two entire sections next to her all stood up at the same time calling for help. Hope she makes out ok.

I have an exam today so I opted to sleep, rather than get up at 1 AM to watch a hockey game. Just saw the highlights though. Great ****ing win!

That's a great point and a huge difference from this team of the past few years. They are looking hungry all the time to score, and not just lining up at their own blue line when they have a lead. I wonder how much of that is confidence in the man between the pipes?

9-0-1 in their last 10, outscoring opponents 44-17.

Most interesting fact about the last 3 wins:
The Flyers have been called for a grand total of 7 minor penalties in the last 2 games. The boys have been a whole lot more disciplined since the Washington game.
