Good luck in Carolina Bodie!

I think he will help them, they could use a tough 4th liner.

Whatta hell Bob Murray, what were you thinking?
He was our only sushi master

But seriousley - good luck Troy.

Wait, is this is our Troy horse, that enters the Carolina, and then it kills it from the inside? Hell, we should send him to LA.

It must be tough to play in Anaheim. It seems like our trash is another teams treasure. Wait until we waive Voros. There will be a score of teams lining up.

He was dead weight in this organization (no offense to him, he's a decent player). Good luck to him, I hope he solidifies a role on Carolina.

No real loss.

But it's yet another guy claimed on waivers. I would be interested to see a breakdown of guys picked up from waivers and what team they came from. It feels like we're among the leaders.

Which is kind of interesting considering how adamant Murray was that we get something for our UFAs a couple trade deadelines ago.

Need a new avi I guess. I find it odd we waived Carter, what 10 times? and is still in the lineup and Bodie is waived once and gets claimed, just how bad is Carter?

Maybe I'm wrong but I think we'll regret this move too. Bodie hasn't been able to put it alltogether but I think his physical characteristics and skill is rare.

I didn't expect him to be claimed. No huge loss, he's a decent fourth liner who looked ok for a stretch on the third line last year.

Are the Ducks at 48 contracts now?

That gives Murray some room to work with.

The only player the Ducks lost that they probably regret waiving was Kunitz. Thank god we got him back. Other than that, I can't think of one player the Ducks lost via waivers that we regretted later on.

I still can't believe he was picked up from waivers, the things he has done for that franchise.

RC comments on Bodie:

Quote:
One player who will not be in the Ducks lineup is right wing Troy Bodie, whom the Carolina Hurricanes claimed on waivers earlier today.

After producing five goals and seven points in 44 games with the Ducks last season while playing primarily a checking role, Bodie had one assist in nine games this season. He had been a healthy scratch in each of the past eight games.

“We thought Troy had made a real nice transition from an American Hockey League player to an NHL player last year,” Carlyle said. “And he just didn’t seem to get on track. It’s not because of lack of effort because he’s a kid that tries day-in, day-out. It just wasn’t happening for him.”

Bodie, 25, left the American Airlines Center before the Ducks took the ice this morning, bound for Raleigh, N.C., where the Hurricanes host the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday.

“He’s getting an opportunity to go to an organization that sees something in him. That’s all part of the process,” Carlyle said. “We have nothing but good things to say about Troy Bodie, the kind of individual he is and how hard he worked at it.”

Bodie has a 2 way contract, Carter does not. Huge difference.

This is exactly why waivers exist and why they work: to give players an opportunity to play in the NHL when their current team might not have an opening for them.

If you say it does, then I guess it does. I'm just asking how bad is Carter?

That matters in terms of us waiving them.

It doesn't really matter in terms of the claiming team. Because they would be claiming Carter/Bodie to play them in the NHL, so the 2-way doesn't matter.

Yeah... What former 1st rounders are available? Or maybe there's a guy who was good once upon a time available? I'm sure BFM will be on the prowl for one of the two.

That's always the fear when someone is waived, but I don't think so in this case. Bodie isn't fast enough IMO to be a winger on a shutdown line. Plus he's been outplayed by Josh Green... so yeah, I don't think we will miss him much. I don't like losing him for nothing, but he definitely did not have a spot on the big club this year, and I honestly don't see a need for him in the future. Not one that can't be easily replaced anyway.

I mean, with a name like that, he's pretty much has his opinion decided for him, regardless of what he's commenting on.
