like many have wrote, Isles will hire only a roockie coach, who will look at this job as being an intern, work for cheap, get your name out there, make connections, and get a real job in a few years working for a NHL team rather then a AHL organization that plays in the NHL (isles),

and hartley was apparently on tv recently that he flat out said wang is a nutjob after he interviewed and lost to gordon, so i doubt wang would hire him..

I heard about Hartley bad mouthing Wang, and if true. He has NO SHOT as Gordo's replacement.

But Botta also said he's heard stories of Hartley bad mouthing Wang after not getting the Isles job, so if that's the case Hartley is out.
The best available coach right now is certainly Jacques Lemaire, but unfortunately, he will never be the Isles coach.
I know for sure that Hartley bad mouth Wang on television here (in french) on rds. He said something like "when earing Wang talking, I felt the MadHouse was not far away" or something like this...
He might have been an excellent choice for this type of team but...like you said...we'll never know.
I don't know if we have the personnel to trap, but it would be the only way to the playoffs, get a Parenteau PP goal and then trap for 47 minutes straight.

coaches and goaltenders are typically symptoms of larger problems and poor talent.
A coach like Hitch should see opportunity here on Long Island since they are a rock-bottom franchise with good young players and nowhere to go but up. Not unlike Guy Boucher in Tampa Bay.
UNLIKE Boucher though, we don't have a guy as respected as Steve Yzerman.
We're probably a couple of years away from where Tampa is today.
Tough to get a veteran coach who'd want this job, in this environment.
Besides, would Snow consider hiring someone who's a threat to him?
I would wait to see what happens in Buffalo....There are rumors that if Buffalo don't quickly turn things around, Ruff and Regier could go! I would try and and get Ruff here ASAP
Hes an excellent coach, but the Isles cant win with their current lineup no matter who the caoch is. Its as simple as that IMO. Please, spare me the ******** of Snow offered the most money to Martin. In the end, it doesn't matter because Martin signed somewhere else. Bottom line is, he gave his coaching staff NOTHING to work with.
