We drew a couple penalties and they scored a couple power-play goals, and we couldn’t really get back into the game. We scored a 3-2 goal and a 4-3 goal, but we just couldn’t get back. We shot ourselves in the foot a few times tonight."

We certainly don't want to make a habit of these type of games, poor decisions we made and things like that. Yeah, it was a little messy in front of the net. That hasn’t happened to our penalty kill all year, but it certainly happened tonight. I thought one was a fairly lucky bounce, but the other one, we just need to do a better job of eliminating men or getting the puck. It’s one or the other, and we didn’t do either one tonight."

We got ourselves back into the game and we were ready to go, and the next shift, a minute later, they’ve got that two-goal lead again, or they’re building on what they had. We just need to be — and we have been — we need to get back to, in those situations, the importance of the next couple shifts right after, bouncing back and responding to that challenge. Again, that’s something we have done a very good job with so far this year, and that was a letdown for us last night."

LET'S GO KINGS !!!

- Next HOME Game -

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

I have a question.. I really like the calling up of Dwight King, but why not call someone up like Moller and play him on the 1st line LW and move Clifford or Richardson to 3rd line LW

Moller-Kopitar-Brown
Smyth-Stoll-Williams
Clifford-Handzus-Simmonds
Richardson-Lewis-Westgarth

Moller? Of the 1 EN goal in 9 games variety? Don't think his stats warrant a call up, but then again, I haven't seen him play.

Too bad Kozun isn't more mature/stronger/bigger. He has the talent to be a first line winger someday, but if we ever called him up, he might get hit so hard that he flies over the boards.

Hi all,

You may not remember me, but I boarded the King's bandwagon last spring. Someone asked if I could fill you guys in our team when the time came - well here it is.

The best description I can offer for the CBJ is: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. We really have no idea which team is going to show up - the one that put a 8-1 spanking on St Louis last Wednesday or the one that seems to only appear on Fridays (the REALLY REALLY bad one).

CBJ are currently 4-1 on the road, and 0-4 on Fridays (I know this is a Wednesday).

Our power play sucks, your PK is good (is there an option for turning down power plays?). Have you gotten any shorties? Just asking since we have given up almost as many shorties as we have PP goals at this point. Although, according to media reports, the team has been working on the PP (and shifted personnel) a lot over the past three days.

Nash is back in the line-up, he missed last Friday's game (5-1 loss versus Colorado). Stralman is out with the flu. Commodore is back in. GDT guy - Hejda should be in the line-up.

We don't know who the starting goaltender will be. All the fans have been told is that Mason and Garon will both play on this trip. Makes sense since, once again, it is 3 games in 4 nights in California.

There is a chance that Murray will play instead of MacKenzie.

Of course we remember you. You are a girl and the ratio of girls to guys is very low
Thanks for the info. If you come over here during the game and we are saying awful things about your team, well, deal with it. We will be nice to you after the game is over. I hope after the game we are feeling sorry for the beating your team will have taken. Kings did not play well vs the Sharks and need to take it out on someone. These West coast road swing have got to be horrible for teams. The Kings, Sharks, Nucks and even the Ducks recently play a brutal game. Good luck on the rest of your road trip. Just not tonight.

You're assuming that I'm going to stay up and watch the game...

I hate these 10:30 EST starts on weeknights, I'll probably watch the first and then decide whether it is worth staying up for the rest of it.

Flipping some of your comments, the CBJ played like crap against Colorado last Friday and need to take it out on someone. Actually, this season, they have seemed to bounce back pretty well after getting beat (which is new). So the CBJ had a tough practice on Saturday
Quote:
Today's practice in Nationwide Arena was not a sleepy Saturday walk-through.

Arniel mixed lots of contact drills with at least two drills focusing on defending 2-on-1 breakaways, which is something the Blue Jackets have looked, at times, clueless trying to defend. Then, at the end of practice, he put the Jackets through wind sprints (Herbies, Arnies, whatever you want to call them) that he insisted were pre-scheduled and not a form of punishment.
http://blog.dispatch.com/cbj/2010/11/run_downhill.shtml

They had Sunday off and have had 2 more practice days.

CBJ fans are of the opinion that this road trip will show us whether the team is legit this season or not.

If the Kings take the Blue Jackets lightly, Columbus will win. These guys are not doormats, they are a 4-1 road team so far this season. I hope and expect the Kings performance to be significantly better than what we saw Monday night.

I'm not mad about Monday's loss. I realize every team loses games. But we as Kings fans have been too patient with crappy Kings teams for too long to tolerate a losing streak of any kind. We paid our dues. Now we get to root for a strong team that goes out and stomps on weaker competition. None of this "playing down to their level" nonsense. Go out there and out play them because the Kings are the better team.
