Still can't believe this is getting airtime on a mainstream NY sports station.

Anyone up for calling Bettman on his call-in show tonight? I'd be curious what he has to say about all this.

What's going to happen is Wang will come on, Snow won't. He'll talk about how this was a whole big misunderstanding between the two. Spin it into a good light and make sure Botta not whole has his credentials reinstated but will kiss his ass the rest of the season.

Wang is a man and is willing to listen to some tough questions. Garth is a boy and cries and hides behind the PR rep. The guy is a joke, SNOW MUST GO!

I understand that and that's what I meant by "fluff." At the same time, you know that Botta knows what Wang has his hands in and his motives for a lot of things. You know the Lighthouse Project is a huge blow to the franchise in terms of spending money for the roster, and so does he. His respect for Wang for not blowing that up on the most important NY Sports radio show is what I meant.

I'll try to call in on my way home from the gym tonight.

FWIW I think Bettman's show is the best one on the NHL on XM channel. He seems to answer things pretty directly and it's usually pretty interesting.

This whole thing reminds me of that hullaballoo with the NY Mets where Omar Minaya tried to single out the one reporter for writing about the Tony Bernazard situation. Another kind of 'personal vendetta against a reporter' that ended up making Minaya look REAL bad.... he was a lame duck GM after that debacle.

He's banned anyway - bury them deep under the bus.

Someone mentioned that Botta has unconditional love for NYI and that's the real reason he wimped out. He talked tough on the blog but not on WFAN.

If I said what I wanted to I would've been cut off after 20 seconds. Francessa let me talk for 5 minutes which is pretty long on WFAN afternoons.

That was me. I just don't think he has it in him to take a baseball bat to the organization on a platform like WFAN. Perhaps he thinks he'd be harming too many things (personal and profesional memories, alumni relationships, etc.) he holds dear...

Just my guess anyway...

It'll be on WFAN.com (which redirects you to CBS) later on tonight. just click on Mike Francessas link and the interview will be there. Give it a few hours.

to be fair, he said that in comparison to the Yankees, which the called made some comment about George (wasn't really paying attention to the callers point)

I don't have access to the radio show but I really don't blame Botta for being cautious on air. IPB is his living these days and he has nothing to gain from making Snow/Wang even madder at him.

anyone get the feeling the isles are willing to try anything at this point to keep the story from being about an 11 game losing streak w/ no end in sight?

people are talking about the team and no one is focusing on how bad they are at hockey

Loved the quotes by McKenzie. Snow and Wang clearly did not think this through at all.

Honestly I think this will magnify the losing streak.

This awesome, this is what we need. Keep calling in. We are creating an uproar in the NHL community. We will never stop until Wang and Snow are gone!!!!!!

Anyone who was at that toronto playoff series knows the Isles have a ton of fans, we have all been pushed away by the terrible disgraceful management of this team. It is time for us to fight back!
