Jason Blake has another season on his contract at $4M cap/$3M salary. Anaheim acquired him last season to dump Giguere and give Hiller the clear cut #1 job. Anaheim GM Bob Murray is close to Brian Burke who loves Drury. Sather is close to Burke. Sather and Murray have made deals in the last year. Small ones but still deals. Even with Drury's struggles,there has to be some GM's which still think Drury can contribute in the right situation which is not playing on the 4th line with two minor leaguers. They swap their problem for the Rangers problem. Drury has a NMC and a home in southern California. He would waive for the OC. Anaheim needs another center behind Getzlaf and Koivu. Anaheim is not an upper limit team so the cap hit won't hurt them. The upper limit is going up by $3M. If Anaheim wants to bridge the $2M gap between Drury's and Blake's salary or the Rangers take back SPC's,something could be worked out. Sheldon Brookbank is making $800,000 next season/$750,000 cap. Maybe the Rangers take him in the deal. Sather has made these moves before.

If the Cap ceiling increases, what about the cap floor? Would that increase by 4.7 million also? If so, chances of moving Chrius Drury wouls be greater with the larger cap hit and dollar amount of his contract.

NMC or not. If the team asks a player to waive a NTC or NMC,the team doesn't want you anymore and it's time to go. Glenn Healy discussed this topic on a Hotstove segment on CBC about one month ago in relation to the Flames who have numerous restriction clauses.

No but we did discuss Gomez to Montreal as a possibility considering the Habs had interest in him in 2007 and they had the cap space to add the Gomez contract. Also Rozsival to Phoenix is another one we discussed here. Drury and Blake would/could be the main components.

I like! If the cap somehow jumped the 14% league revenue has so far this season and goes higher then you predict, Rangers would have some space incase of injuries and a deadline acquisition next year for the playoffs run.
That would be a very solid team and a team that could do some damage if the young D keep progressing, like Sauer and McD.
