Boxscore has both for roughing, but Milan gets an additional 2 minute roughing call.

I would have been surprised if it was a fight, but was expecting coincidental minors. Cool stats go out the window when we get a powerplay, especially when we're not in a "can we just decline the penalty?" type rut.

Patrick Dwyer with a statement early. I think he knows he's here for good now with the Kostopoulos trade. He's showing us we're in very capable hands. Infectious energy on that kid.

You guys realize that we are not playing Ottawa Senators..

The team we are playing is out of gas after a very emotional day and long travel from Philly to Ottawa to Raleigh.

They arrived when it was time to lace skates.

BTW, looks like i am not buying beer.

I will have to eat some crow regarding Dwyer

I thought his skill set was questionable for the NHL level but he looks more skilled than I originally gave him credit for. He has been a pleasant surprise to watch so far this season.

A Skinner goal is the only thing this game is missing.

I'd like to point out that Carson just avoided pulling a Corvo into the pad shot to break away chance

Canes seem to be getting lazy now. I realize it is a 4 goal lead, but the Sens are getting a lot of chances.

EDIT: good call by Maurice on the Time out. Don't let Ottawa get any life.

The Senators don't look tired in 2nd... Canes had 2 SOGs in 15 minutes, and i feel bad about this PK

Why no POS? I thought he was supposed to play on the 4th line tonight.

I saw him out there a couple of time earlier...but haven't seen the 4th line much at all in the 2nd. Not sure why. Tlusty went though a conditioning skate today though because they thought he was going to be a scratch, so I can see him not getting much time.

Seems to me that Skinner looks a little sluggish tonight (and against Philly and Montreal as well). Or is that just my imagination?

Oops, missed him the first time I looked at the scoresheet. He's played 4:15 through 2, less time than Tlusty even.

O'Sullivan is playing tonight. He's just not getting the icetime that the other 4th line mainstays are getting, due to him not playing any special teams.

Not the greatest 2nd period, especially after they came out flying in the first, but it's to be expected. Two points, that's all that matters.

And I will say this: For all the flak LaRose gets for not being an offensive guy, he certainly knows how to create chances out of nothing. He's set up Staal for two shorthanded breakaways, and he's been a part of two clean 2-on-1s.

He may not put up the points, but in terms of creating offense, he's not too far off.

EDIT:

I have to imagine he's seeing the other side of playing in the NHL. He got to ride the high of scoring his first NHL goal and then contributing offensively for a good period after that. Now, with the team putting up two godawful games and him struggling offensively, he's probably pushing himself and gripping the stick a bit too hard.
