For now, just a couple quick notes:

Goalie Robin Lehner and forward/captain Ryan Keller were both missing from this morning's on-ice session but at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena to work out and get treatment. Kleinendorst said both are day-to-day, and that Keller was a surprise scratch for Sunday's loss to the Hershey Bears after not feeling quite right during the pre-game warmup. Keller could play tomorrow, but is not definite, while Lehner is definitely out tomorrow and likely won't play Friday even if he's feeling up to it. Not even they seem sure. But team and league scoring leader Corey Locke seemed pretty disgusted when asked if there is any explanation for the way they've started some recent games.

Defenseman Geoff Kinrade - who was on the ice for three of the Hershey Bears' goals Sunday, definitely not the worst total for a B-Sens player - also had some brutally honest things to say about the team's effort in that loss.(read more)

The Stingrays are calling this their biggest signing in franchise history, as the 36-year-old former first-round pick has 176 games of NHL experience.

Wednesday’s opponent: The Syracuse Crunch is the AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks. Binghamton has been affiliated with the Ottawa Senators since 2002.

Head-to-head: This is the third of eight meetings this season between these two squads. They have split the first two meetings, with Binghamton, winning the last meeting 5-0, at home on November 7th.

Standings: Binghamton is fifth in the Eastern Conference’s East Division with a record of 7-7-1-1 (16 points). Syracuse is sixth in the division with a record of 6-5-1-2 (15 points). Binghamton is 3-3-0-1 on the road, while the Crunch has a 3-1-1-1 record at home.

Binghamton by the numbers: The B-Sens are averaging 3.19 goals-per- game, through 16 games (ranked 9th). They have allowed an average of 3.25 goals-per-game (ranked 23rd). They are 17-for-82 on the power- play this season, 20.7%, (ranked 6th). The B-Sens’ have given up 14 goals on 72 chances on the penalty kill, 80.6% (ranked 20th).

Syracuse by the numbers: The Crunch is averaging 2.21 goals-per-game, through 16 games, (ranked 28th). They have allowed 2.43 goals-per-game, (ranked 5th). The team is 11-for-64 on the power-play, 17.2% (ranked 15th). The Syracuse penalty kill has allowed eight goals in 66 chances against 87.9%, (ranked 7th).

Binghamton Ice Chips: Ryan Keller was scratched from Sunday’s game in Hershey and is not a certainty against Syracuse, according to B-Sens beat-writer Joy Lindsay. Also on the injury front, goalie Robin Lehner is out until at least Saturday. With Mike Brodeur still on the shelf due to concussion issues, that leaves Barry Brust in the line of fire for the immediate future.

Despite their .500 record, Binghamton leads the AHL in a few key categories: Corey Locke leads the AHL with 23 pts; Bobby Butler leads the AHL with 12 goals and
Francis Lessard leads the AHL with 99 penalty minutes. Lessard picked up 26 minutes in penalties on Sunday at Hershey including two fighting majors and a 10-minute misconduct.

Syracuse Ice Chips: Nicolas Deschamps leads the Crunch in points, (10), plus-minus (+4) and shots (31). He has seven goals in 14 games. Center Gabe Gauthier will return to the lineup after a shoulder injury sidelined him since October 27.

Disagree. Give him time to work on his game, there's no room for him on the roster at the moment, and playing a full year in the AHL has done wonders for many, many players in the past.
