Sporting News Today teams up with Comcast to produce local editions

Comcast (NSDQ: CMCSA) Sports Group and Sporting News are partnering to create subscription-based online news sites offering coverage and analysis of local teams and players. The jointly produced regional editions of Sporting News Today will cost $3.99 per month and include the equivalent of 8 to 20 pages of local news, analysis, scores, stats and more produced by Comcast Sports Groupís regional affiliates.
The first edition is already live in Philadelphia, Comcastís hometown. It wasnít clear which will be the next regional editions to be rolled out, but Comcast said it will start the rest early next year. Each edition will sport a local cover featuring news tailored to that areaís fans. The rest will include a supplement of the national sports news.
