no need to be upset in here, i think CHL dosnt estimate MHL as high as maybe they deserved but next year they would if russians doing well against students and second tiers of OHL.

Yes, and dotn forget for World Cup of juniors clubs.. of course, if CHL is participate... that would be next reason CHL to estimate MHL.

Wow, free admission sounds good, figured they would charge something. Be sure to tell how the match goes as I doubt they broadcast any of the matches here.

there won't be many students on campus - winter break, pretty sure the arena will be empty. A few years back I went to see Gazprom team - play Canadian vets and there were may be 100 ppl in the stands. I will try to post some updates here, granted I make it to the game.

Churlyaev (magnitogorsk) is the cap; Lazarev (Mytischi) and Yakovlev (Kazan) are the A's.

The first period was great, Army was leading 3-2 and it seemed pretty evenly matched, then the Red Stars just seemed to hit another gear and were flying down the ice. Army just isn't good enough to keep up this year with most of their conference rivals, and against a talented team like this they didn't have a chance. I really want to see how they do against Yale (and as a BC fan, I'm hoping they rough them up a little).

I'm throwing a video of the omilusik penalty shot up on youtube.

I was at the Army game. You could tell right away the Red Army was the superior skating team. They were strong on the puck along the boards and were able to get to the slot with their strength. The first 10 minutes of period 2 they scored 4 goals to turn a 3-2 deficit into a 6-3 lead. To be fair to Army they switched to a freshman goalie (1st apperance of the year) with the score 8-3 and the Red Army scored 3 very easy goals towards the end of the game.

It will be interesting to see how they do against Yale.
