Maine NCAA D-III (Bowdoin, Colby, UNE & USM)

Maine NCAA D-III Season Preview
Published on: 18th November, 2010 by Chris Roy

Quote:
All four of Maineís NCAA D-III menís ice hockey programs get underway this weekend, and it should be an exciting, and unexpected season. For one school, Bowdoin College, they hope to get back to the NCAA Tournament and go one step closer to that national title, while University of New England continues to build a program thatís only in its second year. For Colby College, they have the experience to make a run at the NESCAC title along with the University of Southern Maine, who is a team shrouded in anonymity, but that may not be a bad thing.

Bowdoin overcomes veteran missteps for overtime win
Published on: 20th November, 2010 by Cory Prescott

Quote:
Brunswick, ME – On a night filled with penalty minutes, and up-and-down play, Bowdoin College men’s ice hockey team prevailed against UMass-Boston, 5-4, in overtime.

Senior captain defenseman Kyle Shearer-Hardy netted the game winner with a sniper shot from the blue line, as Bowdoin triumph in what Head Coach Terry Meagher called a “lucky” victory.

Nice to see some D-III interest around these parts.

Bowdoin looks like they're going to have another strong year.

I pick Bowdoin to win NESCAC this season... I've seen them twice and both times they impress me.

It looks like Bowdoin is continuing to dominate the NESCAC. Although, Hamilton looks to be making a strong push. They really made a statement earlier in the year when they beat SUNY-Oswego and were one of only two teams to beat the Lakers thus far this year.

BTW, SUNY-Oswego was my pre-season pick to win the D-III National Championship and Bowdoin was my preseason pick to win the NESCAC.
