Old School Scrimmage at Practice

All sticks tossed in the middle, then divvied up.

Can't hurt to try and instil some fun back into the locker room, things can't get much worse than they are right now.

Its all about bringing much needed structure to the team. What happened to all the guys that were saying how good Renney was going to be for this team? Show yourselves.

He's tried everything. It's the players that suck. I can't believe the oilers gave up a pick for Fraser That pick is probably worth more.

For the guys on the winning team it will help their confidence and break the losing culture.

The last thing practice needed today was sticks and pucks. It should have been buckets.

I don't think he's tried everything. MaCT before he was fired tried everything. This guy has been the Coach for less then two months I highly doubt he's tried everything.

The sad thing? They lost the scrimmage 6-0.

Actually, Penner scored with 2 minutes left to make it 6-1

Gregor had a hilarious and not surprising Tweet:

JasonGregor - Unfortunately some things don't change. Gilbert with giveaway to Eberle and that sniper Vandermeer.....

LOL

I am right here, what do you have against Renney? maybe he does play big Mack more often than not but this team is already soft enough. Renney is good for this team.

It's more that IATL is a fan of Quinn and didn't like that Quinn got replaced, and I suspect there was some animosity between posters that were probably a bit too boo Quinn yay Renney for IATL's liking.

I have nothing against Quinn, I was very happy when he came, even though Quinn was put in a bad position(as well) I just thought he was too soft on the team but it would be a difficult position to be the Oilers head coach at the moment, I am not worried, everyone understands this is a very young team with so much raw talent, the coaches should take their time to figure out the best chemistry, as of how they're playing anyways....sounds so cliche but the "growing pains" are only going to help this team, make this team.

although I am still confused on how Omark has not been called up, he will be a big part of the oilers future, if not sooner than later

I can't see Scotty Bowman having much of a better record with the murderer's row lineup that Tambellini has assembled.

Renney has made some very questionable decisions. From sticking with his boy Strudwick to Jones on the PP to the 4th line in general. He is hardly faultless for the past few games. Sure the majority lands on Tambo's lap, but Renney isn't blameless.

I do agree that I'd prefer the pick to Fraser. At least with pick doesn't take up a roster spot that O'Marra or Reddox could be using.

I'm starting to doubt Renney and the feel-good family vibe the team seems to be trying to build. Memo to Tambellini: nice guys finish last

I dont disagree though. I saw Vandemeer yesterday on the PP... ahead of Belle.

He looks good in a suit, memorizes his lines, and shows up on time.

I'm sure it's all explained in the Documentary™ Series© "Oil Change".

Apparently they had a Strip Shootout as well. Cogs seems to have lost. That's pretty bad since the final 3 were Struds, Pecks and Cogs.

I dont really have anything against him. I have disagreed with some of his coaching decisions, ie. starting Khabibulin every game, Cogliano over Brule at center, Jones on the pp over Eberle, Hall or Paajarvi, rolling lines on the pp, not putting Horcoff back with Hall and Eberle, the regression of Tom Gilbert, those are some of the ones I can think of right now, Im sure there are more, but most importantly the team isnt responding to him, at all.

In fact it looks at times like they have no coach at all. They just showed up for some shinny.

Why should they be allowed to have fun when this board is so miserable?

Beat me to it!

To no one in particular: Honestly, this is a 30th place team Tambellini has assembled. Coaching isn't the issue. Full marks to Renney and the players for keeping spirits light. They might as well create as much fun as they can this season.

This board would have found a way to be miserable in the peak of 80's.
